Well, that didn’t work on either of my gen 1 MuSos. One won’t download the file. The other did, and supposedly installed it, but I still can’t get a radio station list. My Atom is fine.
Edit: it’s fine now. The second MuSo finally entered update mode, and the first one was hung up trying to connect with the last station it had been playing last week. Once I told it to stop streaming that station, it compiled the new list.
Thanks, Richard. I actually did that prior to attempting the updates. See my edit. Despite deleting the presets, there was that one pesky previous station.
Where does it stated in that part of the message, that this is a replacement and is needed?
This is what it shows till now:
This update is available on the following products:
Like i said, she uses a QB2. How should she know from, for example, the image of a Muso (elongated), that this “update” is also needed for her (cube shape) QB2?
For her and in her view, the muso is a fundamentally different product…
What I try to convey to Naim:
a lifestyle product attracts different users and they can/should be addressed in a different way. Naim’s communication style should respond to this…
traveler, it wasn’t actually needed until vTuner suddenly without warning ceased their service for Naim streamers 6 days ago. Unfortunately it happened on Friday night/Saturday morning with Naim and Focal closed for the Weekend and only people like myself working remotely and able to get information out via this forum, which I did immediately with a pinned post on here explaining what had happened and advising customers on what to do if they had 2nd gen streamers and what was coming shortly in the form of a firmware update for 1st gen streamer owners. That was the only way to get the message out as widely as possible as quickly as possible. Upon Focal and Naim’s return to work on Monday they were able to get a formal notice out to all dealers and distributors to pass to their customers. There also should have been a notice that should have appeared in the App when a customer tried to use the VTuner function.
When you start the app, and new firmware is available, it tells you. It showed up yesterday for gen 1 musos, and would have been there a few months ago for gen 2.
I’ve owned my Gen 1 Mu-so since it came out, and now, with this recent February update, my system got bricked. I started the update as usual, but it never completed. The constant blue light indicates that the Mu-so is in update mode. I’ve tried restarting, a long power-off cycle, a router restart, and a pinhole reset—nothing helps. Please help me fix this failed update.
Kart & eriik, I updated my Mu-Sos this morning. Initially it went fine but with one of them I left it to do it’s thing and came back to find a solid red indicator. I unplugged it, and left it for a few minutes. Then plugged back in and it seemed stuck on Blue with three volume segments. So, I reset the unit via the pin hole and then went through the whole discovery and setup again and all was then fine. My internet can be pretty flakey here so I put it down to possibly that. Sometimes it can take a couple of hard power downs, just don’t do them in the middle of while it appears to be doing the update.
If your issues persist then I would recommend you contact Naim support either via email or on the phone - contact details on the website. Obviously they are pretty busy right now but they will endeavour to get back to you as quick as they can.
Just the UQ2 update to do now, but I’ll wait until later so I can hook it up directly to the AE and hopefully the internet will be a bit more stable late on in the day.
Richard, I wanted to say thank you for your amazing support in this forum. Firmware installed on Mu-so Qb 1st Gen, app updated and all the stations put back, really happy the international ones I used to listen to, from Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland are all there!
Try this to get it back;
Close the Naim app on your phone
Pull the mains plug on the muso, and reinsert.
Restart the app; hopefully it should list the muso, select and try the update process again
Leave the Naim app running and active; basically leave the phone alone.
The muso should do this; clockwise rotating lights. Then all the lights on. Then one by one anti-clockwise the lights dim and switch off. Finally the muso should start up as usual.
You might need to rediscover the muso in the Naim app if it is not listed.
Thank you, Robert and Richard, but nothing has helped so far. When I power on my unit, the light cycle starts from approximately the 5th light and progresses to full illumination. It remains fully lit and never moves counterclockwise. When I try to update again from my app, the download doesn’t start
Unable to update my UnitiLite to 4.9. It keep searching for a networkaddress but I connect with a USB cable. Deleted all network settings and returned to factory but still updater cannot find my device. Anyone knows how to proceed?
Do you know if there is a legacy Mu-So 2.0.0 firmware available for download somewhere? I think it might be my only solution based on what I have investigated so far.
