IPod on usb

Generally I stream flac files from my Nas drive to my Superuniti. I have apple lossless aiff songs on an old 120gb iPod classic that I have played previously through the front usb port. Now, however, when plug it in, the artist/album/songs all show on the front panel and I can select them. Likewise from the Naim app, all show and I can select the folder, song etc. But when try to play them, the track counter refuses to move and stays on zero. I have tried 3 different leads, including a hi Fi quality lead that I always used previously. The only thing that has changed was the recent firmware upgrade to 4.9 to allow the internet radio. Does anyone have any ideas as to the problem? I would like to play these apple files directly but am at a loss as to what my next an of action is

there have been other reports of formats not playing post 4.9, for example:

If something worked prior to a firmware upgrade to 4.9, your best bet is to log a bug report via email:

Sounds like changes were not simply addition of internet radio, more fundamental changes are in 4.9

As suggested,best contact Naim support.

I shall report it to Naim as suggested. But the fact that it sees the files and reads them points to apple lossless
Being a file format crocked, or not supported. I shall try putting some of these files on a USB stick and see what happens.

As you have a NAS, why not put copies on there so that you don’t have to bother connecting your ipad with a cable every time you want to listen to them?

@ChrisSU. I put some of the files on a usb stick and these same files play from the usb port, but not from iPod. Yes, I could put them on the NAS as suggested, I was trying to solve a problem with the playback from the iPod. When visiting my brother with a similar set up, I can take the iPod and introduce him to different artists.

The wired connection from iOS to older Naim streamers is a rather archaic connection method: depending on which iPod you have, perhaps you could use Airplay or Bluetooth if your brother’s setup can support them?
