English jazz from 2016/17, recorded without overdubs or edits.

A climatic track on a special album.

Very good. Also on Tidal.

Déjà vu.

One I had forgotten about. Bass piano duets. Very classy.

This languid fluid blues sounds best I’ve ever heard it today.

Just right.

Wonderful middle of the road tenor work and not let down by the French help. (Not being disparaging… but you know what I mean)
Pissed off with the musical scene,he sold his saxophones for dental work and died destitute in Seattle.
What a waste.
If you get beyond that 4 hours…

A recent release. Old tunes played in an old style with plenty of tenor and soprano vibrato. I was reminded of Bechet at times. I like it a lot.

Ewan Bleach Quartet.

I have and love the four cds Charlie made with his Quartet West.
He evokes the noirish feeling of Hollywood thrillers from the forties and early fifties.
They can be found on Qobuz.

Oh @Nick1940 I only saw your Lucky Thompson albums this evening and started plaing them. I don’t know how you do it, but you have a gift to pick out all the « jewels ». What a wonderful music. Thank you Nick for suggesting these. Super !!

Well I have had a few years practise( over 65 of them )and my range is quite limited. My marker is ‘Kind of Blue ‘.Stylistically I do not venture beyond that point.

Nick, you must venture beyond Kind of Blue!

Miles hit form right then, and did his best ever work from then til he retired in 1975.

Anyway, here’s one I’m sure you know.

The track where Paul Bley first showed his inimitable style to the world.
