Got this one as well yesterday from native DSD, they had a deal on jazz type of album. Got also the other one of Angelo Verploegen as duo with just a drummer…
Do you mean this one @BertBird ? Just listened to it, and greatly recommend it. I don’t have the DSD version thought; I listend to a 24bit version in Qobuz

His first is my favorite but difficult to find;
Trumpet and drums brought very elegantly

I do like him on some Chet Baker albums -
Strollin’ - on ENJA 5005
Chet’s Choice - on Criss Cross Jazz 1016
Chet Baker, Philip Catherine – There’ll Never Be Another You - on Solid Records CDSOL 6380
Quite a few others as well
Good luck
Thank you Ian, cheers
Hi @Christian thanks for recommending this Barry Harris album. It is exactly to my taste. What a wonderful album; love it. For le Barry Harris is new so currently listening to some of his other material. Nice !

I don’t think he ever made a poor record.
The presence of Cannonball Adderley’s well heeled rhythm duo gives this one an extra shine.
Cannon not only plays you music but offers some hip education.
Very beautiful music and good recording, found on Apple Music.
They are even better playing in front of you.
Perhaps I and the musicians can start getting out again soon.
Fourth covid vaccination to day.
In the meantime I have found this new to me strange wonder
Ben to your right playing in a rather unusual manner. listen to the groan in Sunday when the fingers won’t obey the brains direction.Don a little more bopish on your right.
Tete plays a fine accompanying roll.Turk and Tootie Heath the other two.
On Qobuz
I know the « Ben Webster meets Don Byas » album well @Nick1940 : one of my favorites, and your post made me just putting it in again !!

Sorry my language is to full of elision.
I do not play . Bit of chordal piano and drums but I always slowed down during the difficult passages.
I have often seen Alan and his various bands. It will be lovely when they start visiting the clubs again. Perhaps my daughter will take me for my birthday.
