Nice one Nick :+1:

A fine California based reedsman with the bonus of Carmell Jones.
Bob Cooper was equally proficient on tenor and other orchestral reeds.
Gary Peacock in an early outing.
Sounds good on Qobuz.

Another Kenny Wheeler album arrived today from Melbourne. Love this one and with a great ECM band. This time Mr Brecker on spectacular tenor and the seemingly most underrated of all pianists - John Taylor.

Cheers

Another fine pianist who died early.
Meeting point between Monk and Bud Powell.
Quite unique.
Superlative drumming from Blakey. I always prefer him before he became a brand.
On Quobuz .

Another early departure. Heroin this time.

Qobuz has the two wonderful volumes.

That grumbling left hand is I am sure the basis of Horace Silver’s style.
