Jazz Music Thread

Didn’t know - but will check it out, thanks.

Cheltenham jazz festival starts today.
I’m underwhelmed by past experiences, but am meeting uni friends tonight so we will wonder around the free stuff - weather permitting.

I did fancy seeing Joshua Redman over the weekend - we will see how it goes this evening.

Have a good one!

Sorry for the wrong thread …

no worries
is it death metal?

Heavy Metal, Alternative Metal, but wouldn’t say death metal

what’s the naim of the record?

Another excellent release from the Danish Jazz label Steeplechase this is a Direct to Disc cutting of Horace Parlan Trio featuring Doug Raney and Wilbur Little. One take no remastering, straight from the musicians the old fashioned way

thanks Ragman - I’ll add it to my long list of tracks to listen to…

on your own “risk”

Yes - I’ll make sure the kids are tucked up in bed first!
Napalm Death went to my school so I’m not easily shocked.

As a jazz point - John Zorn is an amazing crossover point between jazz, hardcore and experimental music. His LP - Spillane - contains a long track with the great blues guitarist Albert Collins - a master piece…also The Big Gundown…

Big John Patton !

And I’d add to that the Filmworks series. The ‘best of’ is a good introduction:

Best of Filmworks/20 Years of Soundtrack Music.
