I remember that Eddie Jefferson shooting when it happened, caused quite a shock. As I recall, he had just recorded half an album with Dexter Gordon. I have somewhere a DVD of his last live gig recorded with Richie Cole and just a day or so before the shooting.

Another lived in voice telling us all about the problems of romantic relationships.

Ralph Gleeson thought the first lp should be played daily at Jazz Academies to keep staff and pupils on track.
Skeeter’s twangery guitar and Sir Charles’ Sunday school organ feature.

With Brubeck is remarkably successful, mainly because Dave keeps out of the way. Paul floats like an angel,he understands.

From the high point of Columbia’s jazz involvement so it all sounds superb.

On Qobuz.

Bonus tracks include:
Cameron’s Calamity cha-cha-cha
The Boris Bossa Nova
Climb May’s Mountain

Is this album aimed at leavers or remainers?

I just don’t get it.
