Oh yes. Do you buy from USA and have to pay duties or wait for Jazz Messengers in Barcelona.

I’ve bought direct from the US and also from JazzMessengers. Cost wise including duties there’s not much in it, although shipping from Barcelona will be cheaper and quicker (once they get it in stock).

Mosaic stopped doing LPs quite a few years ago and my understanding is that they have no plans to ever return to that medium. Too much hassle for a small company.

The other part is that labels are hesitant to send original tapes to third parties anymore. Look at MoFi. They lost access to tapes years ago, but didn’t bother to tell anyone.

I might very well be that Mosaic lost access, or at least didn’t want to pay the insurance costs. Just speculation, of course.

Just out. Got a Gondawana vibe about it

The Mosaic records page/blog thingy has a long article about KJ.
I haven’t read it.

These wonderful artists will soon pass into obscurity so I hope to give them yet another whirl.

A very soulful, full toned, drenched in the blues saxophone player.
Lovely to hear Norman again.
The other two,Bill Charlap’s chosen, are tight and priceless.

Lovely. How refreshing to hear young musicians realising there is a jazz history and looking back to the glory days. (Ymhoo )
Now on its third play.

The forward looking Tomorrows Warriors organisation that nurtures young talent is strong on the history of the music.
I remember an interview with Gary Crosby where he said (something along the lines of) he tells his protoje’s that no matter what you play if you dont want to know your Charlie Parker then I don’t want to know you.
