Yes. Great session.
Thank you dear Roon algorithm to have me discover this jewel. Piano play at a stunning level. Very well recorded album as well. Extremely spacious in sound. Iver
Playing my stereo copy of this classic album for the first time. I have the RSD mono version too. I don’t have a mono switch in my system now that I’ve switched to the NAIT 50, might see if I can find a SUT with one or use an in-line switch.
Fat Girl. A short lived super star. Who’s who of modern jazz.
Jazzrook’s revue on Amazon offers accurate line ups. He is a great source of information for this period of jazz.
Another fine unregarded trumpet player. Best known for the Monk with the Messengers Atlantic. Tightness of Chambers/Jones a marvel.

These four played so often together it sounds seamless.
Has a light, bouncy uncomplicated feel that mirrors SDjr’s stage personality.
Another who earned his living in R&B bands. There must have been so many that never got a real chance to shine.
This is a master priece …… I am big fan of Arnett Cobb … this is a Live album and the atmosphere in the room is very noticable !
Love it

I like Turrentine, so I’ll listen to these both and see what the difference is.
DG…
I was thinking the other day about Jazz Bass players, so I’ll have to check him out.
I have been listening to Charlie Haden.
Many thanks.

The most prolific I’ve come across in a very short life is Paul Chambers.
He’s like a rhythmic superglue on albums. ![]()
I just bought a sparkling new Japanese CD re-issue of this album yesterday. Great stuff!

Hi
I’ve managed to accumulate 224 albums with him sticking it to the rhythm section.
Utter genius must have spent his life in the studio or on stage.
