I think I’ll have to buy (yet another) copy of that brilliant album!

To quote the AllMusic review “… the uncredited fifth member of the supergroup scolohofo debut recording is Miles Davis…”.

Released 2002

Streaming on Qobuz.

Enjoy

Splendid choice. Had that one many years.
I always enjoyed Griffin’s groans of delight after executing a difficult passage.
I thought this a better pairing than TM with Coltrane.

Another home grown musician who deserves your attention.
Being soo old my jazz education started with Willis Connover and Voice of America. The style then was for forceful trumpet players like Roy Eldridge and Dizzy Gillespie as well as the Basie/Ellington stars.
So Bruce is the embodiment of this style.
Good recording as are the other cds on quobuz.image

I’ve seen him at local jazz club playing with Alan Barnes. Excellent musicians and a good comedy double act.

‘Love Chant’ and the title track do it for me.

Alan Barnes and Gilad Atzmon is another unbeatable double act. Barnes is up there with Ronnie Scott in his MC banter !

And the brilliant Emily Remler on ‘Mistreated But Undefeated Blues’.
