For sure you should not buy speakers without a home demo.

I live in France and have 350 km return trip to a German Kudos dealer. The agreement we made was that I compensated him for the trip and installation if I did not go forward with the purchase.

Could you do something similar for example half of the transport cost.

You can check if it’s cheaper to buy Kudos in UK or in for example Germany .

For info. I did not pay the loudspeakers before the home demo.
