Good move. How do you like them? ![]()
One received so far which went onto the NPX 300âŚnoticed difference straight away, had to put the lite version on to make sure I wasnât hearing things or should sayI was hearing things
. When second one comes will try on Core and then try them both on 350âs.
I have my 6 like this:
Mains separate 4mm radial circuit.
Powerline going from double unswitched socket to Wireworld Matrix 2 block.
Then 500PS powerline
Supercap 2 powerline
555PS powerline
ND5XS2 powerline
Tom Evans SRX power supply powerline
Above into block.
Looking at getting better block but just spent a fair bit on 500DR and new clutch and flywheel replacement for BMW 520D!
They are really good. Get full loom if you can. I have built them up over last 10 months. Getting one with the 500DR 2000 birth was a surprise! And I had 2 on 135s so has allowed me to put them on everything apart from Lingo 1 which is on powerline lite.
Might get spearate cable if I change to Radikal 1 or 2 for LP12.
Stick with two 350s for a while and see how you get on!
Be interesting to see what effect it has on Core. I have Zoneripper and it has transformer and figure 8 plug so havenât changed it.
I have found imorovements with Powerline on phonostage. Got one on ND5XS2 as well. Not sure if itâs much different as itâs used as transport only.
But hey ho! I may as well use them all.
Lovely plugs. Quality kit and sound deep, dark, lower sound noise, improve detail, bass and dynamics!
I share your pain ![]()
I am now trying 500PS off block direct into mains radial socket. See what it does.
i have read this is the way to do itâŚlet us know how you get on mate
Had my 135s into mains radial previously. New position of 500PS being higher means cable hangs a bit tighter and doesnât look as good.
But looks ainât everything mate!
The powerline hangs loose and doesnât touch the floor and I think within 15 mins the 500DR sounds better this way. More punch!
When I set it upthe 500DR I plugged it direct into the mains. It definitely sounds better this way.
With different block maybe different again. Maybe time for a quality block with all those powerlines!
The best option should be direct to the wall, with the others piggy-backed off it for star earthing (so 3 piggy-backed plugs, 500 PS, then 52 PS, than 555 PS. But thatâs not within the regulations in the UK, so a quality star-earth power block is the next best thing.
Thereâs so much information on this forum. I have found best practice to be power amp plugged direct into radial socket separately. Then separate block for the rest. Although I will experiment with Supercap 2 into radial socket direct too.
Supercap 2 and 500DR now direct into unswitched radial sockets. 555PS, ND5XS2 and Phonostage on block. Will see how it goes. Small tweaks can bring big improvements with sensitivity of equipment at this level.
Canât stop listening to my new system set up. Thatâs a good thing. Not sure I have ever felt this way about listening to music all night when I get home from work. This is addictive! WOW!
Just comparing some new vinyl against the hi-res WAV on the ND555. The later is clearly better, but then again I like the ritual and artwork of a LP. For the older âvinyl generationâ recordings, Iâm finding vinyl is better than CD rips of the same recordings. So, as you say, enjoy them both for what they are.
Iâd sort of ruled out Radial, as it needs an extra level on the Fraim, whereas a Lingo 4 can be fitted in elsewhere. It would be nice to have the switched 45 function, and the general consensus seems to be that a PS is the best upgrade?
The Supercap 2 sounds better direct into the radial wall socket. I think I will stick with this set up for a while. 500DR and Supercap 2 direct into radial mains sockets. Then block for 555PS, ND5XS2 and Phonostage. Seems like a good compromise. Will look at high quality mains block which should yield good improvements and more experimentation.
The source thing is a funny old thing. My best material is hi-res LCPM from my Bluray into the ND555, then hi-res WAV files from the Core, with the above covenant that old vinyl from an analogue recording is hard to beat.
Yes, that sounds the way to go, I hadnât realised you had two radial mains sockets.
Go for Lingo 4. I reckon it will sound fantastic, and apparently is close to Radikal 1. Will enable you play singles. Nice upgrade. Leave the Cirkus for now if it all sounds great.
