Maverick hifi show 2024

Fantastic. You are an absolute star to lug all that stuff to the show. Bonkers, but still a star. Have a great time and I hope it goes really, really well.

It’s sounding so much better than last year in this room.

The difference is outstanding, if you liked it last year then you will really want to hear it this year.

The 2025 show has been and gone. Firstly it was once again a great weekend of fun, music, and meeting old friends.

The charity got a cheque for over £10500, fantastic result.

I was luckily given a much bigger room than last year, and I mean much bigger, about 3 times the size. This really helped make my system shine it sounded massive, it completely filled the room, and probably the best I have ever heard it. Compared to last year where it did ok but was very closed in especially to this year. The bass was just outstanding, in weight, control, etc. It just sounded so good.

We had some great remarks on the day and this has carried on. But the one that has really hit the mark with me was. A guy that said. “It’s a really special system. I’ve heard a lot of high end systems and thought “yes it’s nice, but how much??”, but with that system I just think “yes, I get it, I’d do the same if I could”. Plus many more.

I think that’s me done as far as taking the big rig again, I have done it twice now, and now I have done the big room, I think it’s time to take a step back and vist the show as a punter next year. Unless my mate Vic wants to do a room, then obviously I would have to help him as he has done for me.

@Dunc …..Unfortunately we couldn’t make the show this year commitments in London.

Just to say hats off to you for all the hard work, time, traveling & support etc you have given to this show / charity.

Well done Graham

Well done, massive effort required to transport and set up that system (.. safely!) … A great result for the charity. Kudos.

Already decided that I won’t be taking the big rig next year, as its been 2 times in a row now, and time for a rest.

I don’t blame you, its a lot of hard work for two days.

It probably won’t go again, unless it gets a special invite, in years to come. Time for a much smaller set up, or just go and enjoy the day

Well an update to this year’s show.
We will be once again having a room, that’s 3 years in a row.

This year we will be doing things a bit different, as the big rig has been the last 2 years and we want to do something different and easier

We are going all tape, and 1/4 inch tape.
2 x reel 2 reels running all day.
Plus i will take my sony el7 elcaset.
Probably take my vitus sia030 integrated amp but that might change to something smaller and easier to move.
Stand mount speakers that should hopefully work well in the smaller room.

So quite different to the other years no digital, no requests, it will be sit down and listen to what is playing and hopefully fall into the lovely music you get from reel 2 reel.
Obviously things might change as its months away (end of October) but this is what we have decided to do.

Cheers dunc

You dont often get to see 2 of these in the same room working, but you will if you pop along to the show later this year.

I think its going to be epic and very different to what you normally get to see and hear at any hifi show these days
