Incontrovertible evidence you can have too much of a good thing. In Toto’s case, less is definitely more!
On Amazon a 10 cd box set by Natalie Merchant for £30.30.
Qobuz freebies on offer:
Now that’s what I call a special offer!! Thanks for posting them.
Yes indeed, a real special offer & some good stuff in their as well
Qobuz emailed me about it the other day - looks live now, no content there yesterday.
The Jean-Baptiste Marino record is brilliant - never heard his music before but if you enjoy Rodrigo y Gabriela then I’d highly recommend it to you. Papa Wemba next!
Thank You!!
It is worth keeping an eye on Qobuz generally for special offers - when visiting to download the free albums, I spotted they have got albums on the Eat Music label on offer to currently, so took the opportunity to purchase Marillion’s most recent release FEAR in 24/96 for only £6 as an upgrade over my CD copy. They have previously had offers like this on other labels and artist discographies such as Pink Floyd and Peter Gabriel.
Yes, got that and a few other Marillion hi-res releases the other day - only £4.79 with Sublime now!
Have you listened to the All One Tonight concert from The Royal Albert Hall? I find the live version of F.EA.R. considerably more enjoyable than the studio LP.
I have listened to the All One Tonight concert - I’ve got the BluRay and also streamed the audio from Qobuz a couple of weeks ago. It’s an outstanding performance from a musical perspective, and also an excellent recording. As an aside (and somewhat off topic!) I saw them both nights at the Royal Albert Hall last November - I would highly recommend anyone with passing interest in Marillion to see them live, they are absolutely fantastic!
Marillion’s recent live releases are generally all excellent and I agree are often better than the studio versions - Brave Live 2013 and Size Matters are a couple of my other favourites.
I’m envious - I was planning to see them locally last year but it clashed with something else unfortunately.
I’m looking to pick up some copies of the other recent live concerts.
That’s a shame. I believe they are currently recording a new album, so I imagine will go out on tour again in support of the new album.
If you weren’t aware, Marillion are currently holding a sale on a selection of their concert DVDs and BluRays on their website:
http://www.marillion.com/shop/search.php?s=SALE
A Sunday Night Above The Rain on BluRay would be my pick from their sale selection as the concert has a good track listing, plus 96k 24bit mixes of Sounds That Can’t Be Made are provided on a bonus disk.
I wonder about splitting this into three threads as not everyone is interested in all media. So
Vinyl on Special Offer
Downloads on Special Offer
CDs on Special Offer
Any thoughts? Could Richard set this up if it was thought helpful?
Over on Qobuz 60% off on the Naxos label they are practically giving them away.
I’m not a classical fan but at that price I am at least casting out a net.
I’d say leave as is. It’s about the music, not the format. Embrace diversity.
Two sources is diversity enough for me! Anyhow, you cannot separate the medium from the message.
