By the same persons having made “ Intouchables”,
Very good too.
I love Vincent Cassel.
All About My Mother - Pedro Almodovar
Almost everything I’ve seen of Almodovar’s is sensational, but this is probably my favourite.
Have you seen Pain and Glory yet? I thought it at least as good as All About My Mother ( which I also love)
I have indeed. Penelope has mesmerised in several Almodovar movies.
The outstanding film delivers a vivid, emotional portrait of domestic worker’s journey set against domestic ands political turmoil in the 1970s Mexico. The B&W cinematography is exquisite. Very highly recommended.
My wife and I saw Parasite, a fantastic film! I did not give it much thought when it won the Emmy but after viewing the film it was well deserved. Great plot, fantastic acting and I had a lot of belly laughs at the twist and turns in the movie. Loved it!
We’re watching it tonight, your fearless leader isn’t a big fan though.
…if the leader’s name is not mentioned or taking place at one of the leaders named properties, or if he is not given credit or praised then their is a real good chance the leader is going to hold what ever the he!! it is in low regard. It just a set pattern and keeps repeating itself.
The movie had the better cast. Especially Sally Kellerman as “Hot Lips” Houlihan.
But, of course. You know that, you were in it.
Another vote for Roma.
It’s why we got Netflix and still about the only thing I’ve watched on Netflix in the last year.
Best
David
Not a big movie fan but the handmaid‘s tale shocked me like nothing else I‘ve seen on tv before. I would show this series in school…
Great film but absolutely not the best thing on Netflix by a long way.
Series 1 was immense. Pretty much perfect. Law of diminishing returns since then. More soap than dystopian reality show.
Just entered series 2…still shocked about #1…
Agree with @mikehughescq - stop at the end of series 1 (which is where the book ends) and it is perfect. All down hill from there
I was there - and gasped too ![]()
Force Majeure - Ruben Östlund
Superb movie from Sweden. Hollywood is now doing a remake. Sigh. Just what we need: A dumbed-down version of something that was perfect in the first place.
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood - Quentin Tarantino
It’s Tarantino, so it’s overlong and indulgent. But it’s also warm, witty, and packed with great actors (Brad Pitt is on fire).
The less you know about it, the better. Almost anything I say would be a spoiler.
Just this: If only…
Sadly very true indeed.
