Naim app

I have to say I have spent £80K on a Naim hi fi which I can not listen to because the app doesnt work. Please do not mention wifi or internet connections, the app is awful, and I am at my wits end. It simply does not work. Naim, fix this, you know you have a problem, dealers dont rate your app, but when it does not work on an £80K stereo, it is a disgrace

If the app doesn’t work for you it’s almost certainly a connectivity problem of some sort. If you don’t want people to mention this you are unlikely to find a solution. If you talk to Naim support they may be able to help with diagnosis and solutions. If you want help from forum members you’ll need to explain what problems you are experiencing.

It is NOT connectivity,it simply plays music then stops. Now it does not recognise any product.

And please do NOT blame wifi, it is the Naim App 100%

What do you do when it says set upnew device 5 mins after playng a song. Then it wont recognise it. Tv, phone, ta

blet still work

It may be the Naim app, but it’s your Naim app. Mine is stable and works just fine. Without knowing more about your hardware and network setup nobody can help you.

What is your system details please
Where is the music source -
USB stick in the back
UPnP
Tidal
Turntable
CD player
etc

Have you tried a USB stick in the back, and also tried playing from the radio via the app. The more info you give us, the easier it might be to help, and may help to reduce the back and forward questions

Um, contact your dealer?

Tidal

And the system went back to the dealer 2 months ago

It is the App

USB stick in the back dos not matter is the server is not recognised by the app

Playing music, then cant see your product, over and over again. 80000 pounds wasted

If the app can’t discover your streamer or loses its connection to it there’s clearly a problem that needs to be dealt with. Nobody here can help you without knowing what that product is and how it and your network are configured. This is primarily a discussion forum, not a support forum, although members may try to help if you give some useful information.

Your primary means of support is normally your dealer, but you can also contact Naim support yourself by phone or email. They can often help with problems like this.

Ranting like this simply makes you look foolish. Get in touch with Naim Support in the morning, or contact your dealer. The Naim app is perfectly fine and works for thousands of people. There will be something in your setup. The fact that you have spent £80,000 is irrelevant. It works perfectly on my £650 Qb2.

So it sounds like what you are saying is that your app will not connect to a Naim streamer, and we are not allowed to ask you about your network setup. Presumably this is because you have carried out diagnostics to eliminate the network being the cause.

It would be good to know more, but as a quick question, have you tried installing the app on a second device? Also are you using apple or android?

NC or OC streamer from Naim ?

Take a deep breath, a nice cup of coffee and relax first! There are a lot of people here that can help if you provide details about your setup and especially your network. Nobody will dismiss your problem, but they will try to help if you let them. It is understandable that you are frustrated, but there must be a solution, because the app is working fine for most of us.

What streamer? What is the firmware version? iOS or Android app? Did you try re-installing the app? Is your streamer on WiFi or wired? If WiFi, do you have mixed 2.4- and 5ghz? Did you try a factory reset of the streamer?

I had an outage recently (RCD tripped during some electrical maintenance) and the Internet went out as it was on an affected mains ring. My local network was still working when the power was restored but my router died in the process. At that point my 222 could not be found and a while later wanted setting up again. Once I had replaced the router all was well again. So maybe look at your router?
