Naim Chrome Bumper

In search of an upgrade of my Nait 5si / CD 5si combo I couldn’t resist buying a cheap Nait 2 I found on Dutch Marketplace. Although it never was serviced it blows my Nait 5si away. I think I found my upgrade.

The selector-knob is missing. Are these still available?

I know that the factory’s stocks of the larger tractor wheel knobs are now exhausted, however, you may just possibly get lucky with the smaller ones that were unique to the CB NAIT 2. I would suggest you drop a line to Latham Audio to make enquiries with the factory for you.

Only way to find one is to print it… Its not the same size as the Hicap one, so hard to find…

Good question elevenshop

In time I’ll line up the Nait 50 vs my wonderful Nait 2 CB

With same source and speakers

Should be a bit of fun , what I can say though the Nait 50 is a cracker

I love the look of the CB kit - it beats all the later looks IMO. It has an industrial no-nonsense purposeful appearance without unnecessary cosmetic embellishments.

My first Naim was a 42-5/110. Sadly by the time I could afford a 250 it had gone olive, which I never liked as much for looks. I can still remember gazing in envy at Tripod Racks filled with CB kit at my dealers. Great memories.

That’s one of those ‘transitional’ NAITs, as the styling/casework was being changed from CB to Olive.

I have a late Olive NAIT2 (with CD rather than Aux on the source selector), but I have never managed to track down one as shown in your photo.

I met someone who’s doing his best to print two new knobs. Will post a picture when mounted.

I was never a fan those ‘tractor wheel’ knobs - rather too agricultural looking for my taste.

I wonder if you could fit two of the volume control knobs from the NAIT 50?

There are plenty of knobs like there are on the 50 available on the internet. Even found lookalikes in a local store. I want the Nait 2 in original state and like the tractor wheel knobs (mabybe because I am from the countryside).

How many watts output is the original Nait? The one with the smooth volume knob and red light…

I’ve seen conflicting information about how much power these old Naits offer.

Best I’ve been able to determine with my Olive Nait 2 is 15-20 watts. ??

The original NAIT was rated at 15W/channel into 8 ohms, although certain magazines such as HFNRR measured 22W/channel when testing an early sample.

Just google “balloon dog”.
Lots of traders sell these copies.
Now it it’s an original Koontz one, that’s a different story

It’s not just any “balloon dog”. The important thing here is that the dog has just released excrement, which is the correct representation of Koons’ work. I love it. :smirk:
