Thanks gents. I have tracked down my very own pink pooping balloon dog.
See it does not take much to make me happy these days.

So I took my 12, SNAPS and 160 in for a wee service and you know how you get to talking and all that and before you know it I’m going home with a 32.5 and HiCap to go along with my newly serviced 160! Know the feeling?
Before
After
The reasons, well I liked the extra features of the 32.5, even though it will sound pretty close to the 12, it will allow me to add more boxes if and when desired. The HiCap was a much easier decision, offering a definite upgrade.
Just all set up and still cold but there is definitely an improvement!
12 and 32.5 have different temper to my ears. the 12 is more charming and is a perfect match with the 160. The 32.5 is much punchy and play wider.
if you’re lucky, you’ll find a NAC22 that mix, imho, this two quality.
Did you trade in the NAC12?
Interesting LaFeuille!
Keen to hear the 22.
I love the 12!
Yes I’m afraid I did! Though with the caveat that I may go back for it. Which I may well do, just to have it along with the 32.5.
That looks tidy and jealous of that bolt down snaps!!
You can picture Julian Vereker sitting at his kitchen table to build those!
Does the music traverse the Snaps to get to the power amp like other Naim power supplies?
Yes it does.
I know I shouldn’t be saying this here, but I dual-railed a few SNAPSs myself years ago, and still love that little psu. It has a NAP110 transformer inside and a gentle, articulated, mannered ‘voice’ that I sometimes preferred to the HiCap’s.
Is that yours @Igel ? Looks cool I found this old review in Swedish. Which you of course have read
Is it another way to spell Naomi…?
+1
I had them for many years,BD Nac32/Snaps/Nap160 with Linn Kans,Naim Intro,Arriva,Allae. Thanks for the review ,the ones inte the review is from the eighties, the ones in my picture from the seventies,BD = Bolted Down
The old and the new. My very first Naim amp, a CB NAP140 along with my latest Naim amp, the NAIT 50.
But I might go back for it
I would love to hear one of those early Naim preamps, the NAC12 or NAC32, just for comparison.
BTW, was there ever an NAC22?
