Interested to know how it works out with the power black, I need a newer cable myself. Is it a standard bulgin connector, or has he found you something special?
It’s not the original as that is too small for larger gauge wire. I could buy the part on ebay and do something myself (It takes the wire straight back vs down), but I thought why not be sure it’s done right and perhaps make the sound that much better. Getting a 2.5 meter. Posted from the UK today, but who knows how long it will take.
Thanks. The stands are Sound Anchors.
Wich are the main differences between the nac62 e nac32.5?
29.5
A NAC32.5 is a bit more sophisticated and has more on daughter boards and also provision for two sets of phono boards to be fitted and two tape inputs. It also has a very useful mono switch. It was updated to Olive look and given time aligned boards (but lost the mono switch) to become the NAC72.
Oh, the NAP 110 stayed and the 140 is off to other lands. The 110 is certainly a sweet spot in the CB range.
Had to get the LED changed back to red to match the 110’s - I had just had it changed to green during a service to match the 140’s.
and what are the sound differences?
It depends - not so much in theory - JV always said it was mostly down to facilities - but there was greater variance between one example to the next back in the old days and by now, with age and use, there could be much bigger differences. For example; I have or have had at least 10 or 12 different shoe-box pre-amps , including three NAC32.5s; One of them sounds softer and slower than the others, even though it was serviced by Naim, and one of them sounds really, really good, although that may be down to having NA329/729 time aligned boards fitted.
Slightly OT, but what is the tonearm on your PT?
I believe it is a Funk Firm F7 Richard.
I scored a CB Nait-1 on Ebay a few years ago. Not serviced ever. I ran it for 5 min a few times, but always had something else going on, so never used it. (I was running a 272/250DR and then later a UQ2/naimDac/Nac72/HiCapDR/250DR at that time. Since I hadn’t used it, I put it up for sale but wanted to make sure it’s working - so plopped it on my desktop, and using it now with some Naca5, a Chord Qutest Dac into some smallish Totem Kin Minis.
An hour or two into it, I’m totally floored by these speakers. To me, these sound way ahead of the Nait-2 even. I’ve had the Nait2 twice, once unserviced, and another time totally rebuilt and both times, I had the feeling the amp wasnt up to it - running the Kudos X2s. I don’t remember the pairing.
In any case, super happy with the nait-1 and not selling it anymore. Planning on using it as the centerpiece of my Desktop based System. Excellent match with the Chord Qutest and the Totem Kin Minis. These run circles around the modern Nad 3020D.
It’s a Green Light Nait - 1. Not sure about the difference between that and the red-light version.
The red light one sounds better😉.
Of course. But this one is ‘special’. The technicians were having a particularly good day.
They are members of the Sith order.
I had a Qutest here a while back and it made a good pairing with my Nait 1. The 1v output option allows much more range on the volume control and keeps you out of the low volume channel imbalance zone. Enjoy
