Since we’re on all things CB here’s my office system - all 1987 vintage except the 32.5 which is from 1984. There are a pair of 135 monos stuffed under the desk.
That looks so good, bet it sounds wonderful.

Hi, Sorry to hijack thread, but I was very interested in your post, last year, on a thread now closed.
You were saying how pleased you were with the Goldring Ethos. Is that still the case. It looks to be Goldring’s own version of the Linn Krystal. (exactly same spec but cheaper). I currently have a Hana SL which is good, but getting on a bit. I am always interested in Carts that are not lean and analytical and that have a decent bottom end. Have you compared it to anything else?
Also you suggested that when you added a Kore and Lingo 4, the deck became leaner and brighter. Is that the Kore doing that or the Lingo?, or is it just a combination of the two. I still have a Lingo 1.
Any feedback would be appreciated. Cheers.
I did some work on my Nap 120, the original terminals are too shallow for the new Naim banana plugs and they don’t push all the way into the plug which has bothered me since I purhcased the Amp, so I procured the same type as those used in the newer Nap CB 250’s / 135’s etc and installed them last night. Very pleased with the results, looks tidier and povides and much more secure connection than before. Pics to follow.
Here we are, old then new, hopefully these photos do not clash with any the fourm rules (Richard please advise if so/moderate as you see fit).
The second photo shows a trial fit of a new plug and as you can see it was not sitting correctly due to the original holes in the casework being ever so slightly too small so I had to enlarge these to accommodate the new plugs but it is so much better now. All taped up prior to drilling to catch swarf and create a clean aperture. The soldered connection is also improved over the previous plus which features small tabs that screw onto the plug. The keen eyed may notice in the last photo the sheath of the power cable has come away slightly so this will need to be sorted next. I may get Naim to do this if I decide to send it for a full service as I do not think you can buy them off the shelf from Naim nowadays. Would also like to install a Powerline lite plug too, to match the rest of the cables on the system.
Finally, I may be able to use to standard plastic plug covers too now so will maybe look at installing those, it is just a tight fit and does not seem necessary but it would certainly look tidy. My plugs are a little tarnished as I resued them recently when reterminating the cable.
Nicely done Lewis. I would be tempted to put the cover boxes back on just to prevent any accidental shorting, or maybe just some heatshrink to cover the exposed metal.
Thanks Chris. I mean the risk of shorting is highly unlikely as it’s tucked out of the way but I may install the Naim plugs to satisfy my OCD! I plan to do the same to my bolt down 250 but IIRC the spacing is different on that so one could not use the standard Naim plugs.
A couple of subtle changes - 32.5 has taken the place of the 62 and the 160BD has been replaced by a 250BD. I’m pleased with it so far, but haven’t had a really good listening session. The 62/160 may go back in the end…

Lewis has inspired me to do a tidy too so all Naim Lite plugs and a RAx4. I just need to decorate and redo the floor…
Jon i’ve realised we basically have the same floor and hifi rack and almost systems now!
I’ve committed sacrilege and swapped out the control dial on my Nap 120 as I’m not sure I like the fact it’s not the same colour or size as those on the Nac 22. The new one is bigger but it’s the same colour and I think the larger size works as the Nap is a larger box than the Nac. I’m pleased it. It’s a dial from an old Nait 1.
What can I say, you have very good taste.
Looks really good, Lewis! Always creative.
I’m always amazed at the amount of gear, racks, speakers and available corners you have in your house
Lewis, fantastic soldering job on the NAP120, also the NAC22 / 120 look mint hard to believe these boxes are approx 45 years old!!
Nice work as usual Lewis. The 22/120 combo looks great.
Nothing can replace a 160bd
My job for tomorrow is replacing the bulb in my CB250. It’s lasted at least two years I think
And the green lamp shines once more
That looks amazing with the 4x NaimLite and the RA block. What’s the cable trunking behind it - speaker cable?
Although I am am Olive lover, there’s something just infinitely cool about some of these CB set ups.
Still love my 62/HC/140 olives (especially at night)
Thanks.
The trunking is for other cables going along the wall, just keeps them all together.
