And I bet it sounds fantastic. I’m constantly amazed how good these shoe boxes sound.
Was this supposed to be an evolution of the 12/160 or a more cost effective alternative, in the same way that the 42/110 was cheaper than the 32/160?
Thanks. I have to say it does sound reaaally good. I had some repairs done recently and when I got it back I was very surprised. Not a full service either, just a repair so it’s all original still.
I would love to hear them with my Rogers LS7T.
Maybe when lockdown is over Jon!
Really…? I have never seen a NAP120 with a power switch on the front. The ones I have seen pics of, had the switch at the back.
Could @Richard.Dane or @NeilS comment, perhaps…??
Something about the NAP110 that epitomises the brand. This one’s been entertaining me very nicely since 1987 - a lot of performance squeezed into a diminutive case
I’m hoping to make a deal on CB NAC 32.5 / HiCap / NAP 160 tomorrow. It will be for my home office approx 20m2. Other than a full service, could you gents perhaps advise on what to look out for?
Great decision, that is my exact set up, although mine have a few ‘extras’.
Depending on what cables they come with, the Witchhat stuff is excellent, and I found that Phantom speaker cable made a huge improvement over NACA5, the other cables not so much.
My first Naim was one of those.
Classic system @budmoto. Very excited for you. NACA5 should be good enough to start with and a service.
I would see if the units have been modified to non-naim factory specs personally. Some believe after market mods improve sound quality, but I prefer things are kept stock.
I too prefer stock and am getting this partly due to hearing the same setup twenty years back, leaving an indelible impression and partly because I’d like a piece of Naim history. I’m certain, once gainfully employed again, that newer separates (3-4 box) will be acquired in short order.
P.S. I thought I’d removed all incriminating evidence of my misguided ‘black bumper’ experiment, but alas not. Please see Exhibit A below. I apologise most sincerely for my sins and await whatever punishment the authorities deem appropriate.
Richard, since we last discussed my 120 on here I had it repaired and it’s sounding wonderful. Very pleased with it.
Glad to hear that Lewis - the 120 is a great amp, enjoy!
Hopefully it’s just a phase you’re going though
This is outrageous! Get those chrome bumpers reverted immediately!
