In the process of setting up my Chrome system upstairs. Just waiting on speaker cables now.
Apologies. I missed the query at the end. I use nac a5 cable.
Thanks for the reply. I use linn kan or neat iota alpha speakers. Will do a little research and see what comes up for sale on that short list. Cheers
Great looking system!
Thanks!
The speakers are Q Acoustics Concept 20. They have a surprisingly large sound for their size and were very well reviewed so I thought I’d give them a try. They sound great! Especially in a bedroom system. Obviously not as full a sound as my main system.
I’m using a Mac Mini with a cheapo Dac but I’m in the process of looking for a better Dac to do the Naim amps justice. Just so many out there that I still haven’t made my mind up!

That looks so good, very stylish.

I thinks that a CDX2 may be possible, around that price point. Mine was £1500 (pre loved), back in 2009.
Thanks - I guessed that would be your answer.
Thank you! I purchased it from Wayfair a couple of weeks ago. It was quite inexpensive but is very well made and sturdy. Exactly what I wanted for my second system.

Hi Richard
I seem to remember my first Naim gear was a 12S/160 with LP12/grace/supex driving those gorgeous looking Gale speakers albeit mine were the walnut finish
It must have been 1980 or so I guess ?
What did the S stand for on the NAC 12? And would I have had a snaps also as compulsory to run the pre amp ?
Your knowledge would be greatly appreciated Richard as my grey matter can’t remember
Cheers
S would have signified that the NAC12 came fitted from the factory with MC 323S boards.
The NAC12 could have powered from the NAP160, or your could dedicate a NAPS or SNAPS to it.
Thanks so much Richard
So, the classic question, are you a Nait or Nait 2 man?
Hint, there is no wrong answer cos both are superb
Red led and smooth volume knob - very nice!
lucky man !!
The 2 Naits that I have. But that is all I have and need.
They are beautiful little boxes. Enjoy them.
A collection of classics to be proud of, well done!
