This is what I have. The top of the third shelf is 59cm from the floor and the top of the fourth shelf is 70cm. So you should factor in 59cm plus the height of the component you put on top of that.
Hi @JosquinDesPrez ,
Thanks! But thatâs about NaĂŻm fraim reference model right? Iâm about to order a lite version
Each shelf is 15cm tall. With one base shelf, 7.5 cm (mine is on the carpet) from the floor to the top of the shelf.
So I estimate it to be 53-54cm allowing for Fraim chips. The Naim chips may add to the extra height difference. The extra-base shelf adds 5cm, so @JosquinDesPrez height at 59cm, taking off the extra-base shelf from his estimate is 54cm). Each Naim Classic Unit is 9cm in height, so it looks like it will slightly overlap.
On the top I will put a Melco and Panasonic blu-ray player, those are a bit lower (approx 8 cm). With the norstone rack which is 52,5cm it looks like 1 cm has been left
Or get a smaller telly.
That could be the option in the meantime fraimlite should be fine.
In other hand reference model without of one base level and no glass on the top should be fine too
Canât you put a fraimlite on top and the others reference? Mix and mingle the two.
That could be the option, last two shelves (left and right) from lite.
Why a Fraim Lite over the standard/original/fat (whatâs the term) Fraim?
Reference ( fat) is the one. Wel itâs about the space which I have, but maybe a mixing those two (on the top of the rack, lite shelves) would solve it the issue.
A double base shelf will add an extra 5cm to height.
However, with the kit you have, it would be worthwhile to go full-fat Fraim.
Adding Fraim glass with Fraim lite didnât have the same effect as full fat fraim when I tried this out. Not sure why?
My idea is to put a Melco and Blu-ray on the highest two (lite version) shelves âŚ. Or just get rid of tv
I have a Naim Fraim with one standard and one medium, which gives me a height of 61.5cm from the carpet to the top of the unit. This would be a compromise with you having two units on top of each other on the medium shelf. I would guess this would still be better than a Fraim Lite.
The lite version is so bad comparing with the reference?
FYI Fraim Glass adds 2.5cm to the height of the shelf. So no glass and a Melco unit should be around 58cm in height with standard and medium shelves with the Full Fraim.
Fraim Lite is very good. It was a noticeable improvement from a standard Hifi rack. To begin with, I upgraded from lite to full Fraim with just one shelf; it was the same jump in performance that I initially experienced with the Lite. I then experimented with Fraim Lite with Fraim glass but didnât get the same lift in performance. I wanted this to work as it would have been a cheaper option. I ended up going full Fraim for all shelves.
Yes, and if you ever change your mind about wanting to have the units on each shelf, you can replace medium pillars with the standard pillars. Sell the medium pillars, and the shortfall would be minimal.
Thatâs maybe not a bad idea.
