Naim Nac 82 remote codes advice

Hi I have a NAC 82, without a remote control, I must have sold it or mislaid it a while back.

I am looking to try to control the 82 via Home Assistant with a Broadlink IR controller, so I have been trying to find either a remote that will give me the following controls to change inputs; Phono, CD, Mute, Vol+, Vol- etc.
Or one other option is to find/get the codes that I need to feed into Home assistant
(which look like this)
“vol+”: “JgA0AAkACCgdHzg9NyAbIRkgHB8ZPjkfGiAbIBoAC4QdHTk9Nx8bIBohGx8bPzQjGR0eHxsADQUAAAAA”

I am trying to change the input on the 82 to CD when I want to use Roon for streaming and set the volume and then back to phono when I am finished so I can play records again.

I have managed to get the Vol+ and Vol- working by using a “Philips” remote profile but I cant get the Inputs to change..(I am not even sure if this is possible?)

Any advice on a remote that will change inputs and that doesn’t cost the earth so I can get the codes from it (I have seen other posts about remotes but I need to make sure that I can change the inputs between Phono and CD) or better still any ideas on codes I can try that I can put into Home Assistant would be very welcome…

cheers

Naim use the RC5 code set, so you may find that another RC5 handset for a pre-amp or integrated amp will also operate some functions on the NAC82. Of course, it’s no substitute for a proper Naim Narcom, so I would get one of those if I were you - any generation of Narcom will work here, although for a NAC82 the original would have been a Narcom or Olive Narcom 2.

If you want the discrete RC5 codes for custom install control then you should get in touch with Naim support.

This is the remote I use with my 82.

This might help:

Try one of these. Can double up for any home defense duties too.

thanks @Mickyh one quick question can you select the phono input with this remote?
That is one important factor for me, but this looks good.

You press the pre button, and then the number of the input you want. So 1 for phono, 3 for tuner etc.

Yes, as HungryHalibut says below

thanks for the advice on this @HungryHalibut and @Mickyh I have now purchased a remote and copied the codes so I am automating this in Home Assistant, cheers

@tso533 Not sure if it’s useful for you, but I’ve written an integration for 52/82 for HA. Basically just uses a broadcom or tuya ir blaster to make a media player component. GitHub - peteS-UK/naim_nac_x2
