Naim Olive

Lovely Stewart. A serviced 52 is a bit special, isn’t it?
Enjoy!

Congratulations! It’s something, isn’t it?
What speakers are you using?

Very nice indeed. I have a mixture of chrome bumper and olive which I think works quite well.

By the way, where did you get the glass shelves from? I do have a glass shelf under my Atom but it’s just not quite the right size and a little too thin.

Local glass merchant :+1:

Same glass type / specification as Fraim - maybe use Forum search tools - any local glass merchant could provide custom pieces from 10mm Pilkington safety glass, (with bevelled edge detail), etc.

Thank you. Actually there’s a glass merchant not far from me, I must call in.

And if necessary after a recap session, the combo 52/135 is a storm-bringer: power and charm!

I know this very well! Mine 135 - bought from @khan84 (not directly  ) had been recapped in 2018 or 2019 (I think) - bought 135 in 2020
Power and charm!

I would say “honorary olive” especially in non-DR form

Have you tried getting an olive streamer :grinning_face:

I’ve been toying about the idea to put my Linn streamer to olive case if I found one cheap.
I do have Superline and Hicap DR as well, so I might be better to leave it like it is.

I’m about to receive olive Supercap for my NAC82 on Friday or early next week and another of freshly bought NAP135 is at Poland for repair. Really happy for the switch to olive series.
Both Supercap and 135’s might need a service. I will probably send those early next year if I don’t get any other issues with them.

Some years ago, there was a chap on one of the forums who 3d printed an “olive” case (sleeve & sled) and mounted a Raspberry Pi streamer in it.

You don’t happen to have any more info on that? I’d really like a way to hide my streamer in something that looks like an olive case. 3D printing is probably the best approach to get the cutouts etc. to match, be able to make it the right depth etc.

Sadly no, I can’t even remember his forum name. But IIRC the case was about the size of an “olive” Headline, which would be about the right size for a Raspberry Pi mobo plus DAC HAT.

I have now two Olive 72, the above is part of the same combo HC/140, all with matching fascia colour and Holden&Fisher. The problem of this 72 is that’s missing 6 daughter boards, front to rear/ left to right, one 325/7 two 328/1, two 322/3, two 324/7. The latter being buffer boards is compromising the performance? To my ears it seems pretty good but LASA service manager told me that’s like having a passive preamp.

The other one, '91 build is complete with all the daughter boards, but its matching HiCap has no Holden & Fisher and both fascias have a hint of yellow.
I also have the option to swap 72/HC/140 for a 82/2 Hicap/250 all with matching fascias, however i’m not completly sure to prefer the 82 vs 72.
What do you think?
P.s. this newer 72 and its Hicap, both have grounded chassis (see the Red circle on the sleeve) is this normal?

Can you not keep the 72/HC/140 whilst you try the 82/HCs/250?

I would stick with 72/hc/140. Easy decision.
