82 is a lovely pre-amp, are you planning a 2nd HC or a SC?

SC eventually, need to raise funds 1st,
But I do have a napsc2 to pick up,
It has had one owner from new,
I don’t even know if it’s got any phono boards, or had any pot upgrades,
Be opening up tomorrow to have a look, and take some pics and see if any of you with eagle eyed skills might be able to tell me about my pots,

Already emailed naim support for any info, but being a b/h I don’t expect anything till the end of next week,

I loved my 82 was a nice step up from the 72. Adding the SC was a proper wow moment, took away any doubt of how important power supplies are with Naim.
Only sold it to claw back some money after I got a 52.

Price of a 52/SC or 52PS is double of 82/SC and I could not warrant that kinda money, I’ve done lots of upgrades in the last month,
I now need to sit back enjoy and let everything new settle in,
But it will go in for a service depending if naim have any info,

Stay away from Pots 8 on a Nac 82,is my advice.

I started out thinking I would never buy a 52 - but the closer you get to one, the more reasonable the price is.
Currently at 52/SC/135 I never think about the money I just love the sound.

Your system is very similar to mine. 52/SC/135 is a highlight of Naim

135s are on the list also,
Or another 250 and go active as I’ve already got CB2-4 naxo or what the hell might aswell get 4 x135s

It take away some of the fun factor in a Nac 82,is my experience.
A very important thing is that the Cable clip mod is done .

Not sure about when this stops, but I love the Olive gear and I don’t see me moving to anything else just yet. Obviously newer gear is out there, but I am not planning to move on just yet.
I would say that 135’s were a huge improvement on the 250, well worth the money.

I recently switched from 72/Hi Cap/140 which power SBL, to 72/HiCap/250 and it was a really impressive improvement. For me they have absolute synergy together. I also got a recently serviced Nac 82, powered by two HiCap, with the idea of replacing the Nac 72. With the Nac 82 the system sounds good, has more details, authority and dynamics, more mature, but I miss the musical engagement, rhythm and presentation of the 72, with which it can safely be said that this is the end 
! I share my impressions.

I felt the same re the 72 vs 82. The 72 is a classic Naim pre and it works beautifully into the 250 & 135s!
