The 42.5/Hicap have been used on rotation for years and still sound quite good. :+1:

Thanks for the head up Jimmy! Me too I love my 250 but really look forward to 135! And hopefully you would have the 135 again! I was upgraded from 32.5/HC/250

Nah not anymore except the 250 – as I said my 135 is with Darran so temporarily 52/250. But I could definitely live with 250 if not sounding a bit congested. Sad to say but don’t really miss the CBs – never knew Kan’s true capability until drive it with 52.

CDX landed today, it seems really in good condition, however the puck is missing and hearing a rattle inside, i suspect that It was left inside prior of shipment. I tried to open It but the screws are very tight and look bigger than usual, feet don’t look correct either

Without having looked at mine, I think you need a Posidrive #2 for the feet, and a Hex head for the “earth bolt”. Can anybody check/confirm?

Be careful you don’t strip the hex bolt or screws. You can try opening the drawer, picking up the player and slowly manipulate it so that the puck falls out of the opening. I’ve retrieved a few pucks from a CDX2 this way.

Your CDX2 is a beauty!

Having recently purchased a new home I had to pack up all my audio gear, including my 1993 Naim CDi. The first thing that I did before packing the CDi up, was to install the transport screw in order to prevent any damage to the CDi transport and laser. I’m hoping that your CDX2 survived the trip fine.

Was the transport screw properly secured before the CDX2 was shipped?

If there is anything amiss as a result of the unit being shipped without the screw being installed, perhaps you could file a claim. Did you ever find the puck?

Best of luck and please let us know how the situation is progressing.

I betcha - that’s taller than me!!!

Earth Bolt is usually easy to undo. The problem are this feet really really tight, i never saw one such these, i don’t think being original. In case i already have a spare CDX2 puck, but the idea to have one lost inside is quite concerning, ultimately i will have it inspected by LASA. Aside this, it seems in mint condition overall

Already did so but nothing

Agree the feet shouldn’t go too tight (i.e. finger tight+screwing for the last turn) or it will deaden the sound. And yeah should take out the puck as the chassis is for signal grounding you want minimal vibration.

The transit screw was properly fitted and it was properly packaged in a OC carton with additional padding

The feet should be aluminium. If not then they have been changed.

Do you mean the aluminium feet like the CDX2 or smaller?

No, they are like the CDS/CDS2 feet. They look right, although I’m not sure about the screws. Perhaps @NeilS can take a look and comment.

they are the wrong screws definitely

All looks correct to me!

There will be a very slight rattle when the transit bolt is out, as the bush in the chassis is free to move.

Neil.
