Anyone who has experiance with the Naim Solstice turntable ?

Doesnāt matter, Iād recommend a Statement for 1/3 of the price too. All one needs to do is add some speakers of choice with Nac A5 ā¦

My dealer back in Chicago runs a Solstice in his primary system - statement preamp, 550 amp, Proac K6, large Rel subwoofer. It sounds incredible. The most āNaim soundā from a turntable i have ever heard. Oh - he runs it with the NVC-tt and not his Superline.
If you can get it that cheap in near mint shape, and you can secure the alternative counterweight from Naim for lighter cartridges, i would buy it.

I think that source first has its limits . A Rega P6 would be more apropriate.
But others think differently here. They run 30k of lp12 into Nait integrated

The OP says he can get the Solstice at 1/3 the price. $USD 7k then. Perfectly appropriate expenditure for that system. And way better than a Rega for that price.

To me it looks strange with the tall platter.
Maybe why they seem to be very reduced price wise ?, I recall some old thread discussion of this matter, Clearaudio built turntable.
Maybe the potential customers then, already owned LP12, P10, Vertere etc..?
Iād definitely see it in the flesh before any decision.
How much were original retail, if I may ask ?

The actual turntable part of the Solstice package (deck, arm, cartridge) was designed by Naimās Roy George in collaboration with Clearaudio, who also built the the turntable for Naim. The electronic parts of the Solstice package were designed and built by the Naim team at Salisbury. IIRC, the price at launch for the entire package was Ā£16,000/$20,000US.

Itās more 9,5 dollars. If your dealer runs the Solstice with 552/500, itās not without reasons. A P6 into 252/250 will sound better than a Solstice into 72/140. My feeling.
9.5 is about half the price not 1/3. Either way if it is in good shape it is a good buy in my view. Note the OP has said his goal is olive 72/hc/250ā¦my old system. Solstice in that system is perfect.

I am curious to know how the Solstice sounds, especially at what level of LP12 it is pitched against? Within those questions are implicit notes of upgradability and serviceability?
From past posts, with Superline/ Supercap, itās better vs klimax lp12.

Donāt believe all you read on here. Some have stated that a Nait 50 outperforms a 552/500.

Back in the day I had an LP12 with a 42/110 and it was brilliant. Many on here had similar setups. A Solstice with a 72/140 would be equally brilliant. Iām guessing the deck might be the one at Signals. Go for it, and ignore those who say that the Solstice is too good for your system.

The divine marriage might strain to breaking point if I swapped out my engagement Linn for the Solsticeā¦
Yes, those who have a little room and where a 552/500 couldnāt breatheā¦.
Or those who wanted to have less boxes, maybe due to their half pressure, and went for a single box. After , the brain does its trick, and tries and finishes to convince that what they have now is better vs what they had.
