Naim Uniti Nova, defect volme control on the top

Hi All,

My Naim UNiti Nova is about a week old and I already have a very serious problem. Suddenly, the volume control (at the top) is not working. The LED around it lights up, but the volume cannot be adjusted. The remote control works and I can adjust the volume with.
Turning it off and unplugging the power cord did not help.
I read on the internet that many people have the same problem and that only a hard reset may help.
This is extremely unfortunate for such an expensive device.
The latest firmware is installed. What is a permanent solution in this case?
If I have to reset the device every week, it is not even worth 1 euro.

Thanks for the help,
Goran

I have a Nova, Atom and Muso 2 and I have never had problems with the volume control. I would try a hard reset.

What did your dealer/retailer say?

Gosh, I didn’t know the Nova had a reset button …

Presumably this is from a bot. Unfortunately, one that doesn’t know the difference between the words ‘specific’ and ‘correct’.

Unplug the Nova from the mains. Wait a couple of minutes. Press the play/pause and input buttons on the front. Plug the Nova in, while continuing to hold the buttons. Keep holding the buttons for five seconds and then release. Let the Nova continue to start up.

Hopefully the volume control will then work. If it doesn’t, ask your dealer for a replacement unit. If it does, but then goes wrong again, ask your dealer for a replacement unit.

Looks like a few of us had similar problems with our Atoms a little while ago. Mine has been OK since, although I seldom use the control on the Atom. Hope it’s only a temporary glitch for you.

I disconnected the power cable again and waited about 15 minutes. After turning Nova back on, the volume control works again.
I don’t understand why this happened. Hopefully it won’t happen again.
Thank you for your comments and help.

What a shock this morning. I noticed it too :-).

I only unplugged it for a few seconds on the device, but that didn’t work. You really have to do it for the specified duration of 1-2 minutes. It must have something to do with the last firmware update.

Why doesn’t the administrator delete the bot from the top?

You have to love AI bots… At least it knows you should take it with a grain of salt: holding down the rest button (if available)

The Halibot was right though.
