It happens to all of us. I am not a tekie. @ChrisSU can explain .
It happened again - now I managed to skip back on the remote and it got in track again. But no app contact and no reaction on pause …
Can live with it - but neverless not pleasing.
I recognized that it happened when paused for a longer time. Runs a moment then, and then stutters …
Will try to delete playlist and restart in the future, which I normally do!
Did you buy the ND555 new or secondhand?
@anon77199223 Used from a naim dealer… not a year old - full 5 year warranty … (on my name)
Why asking?
Do not think it is hardware related - even do not know if I can reproduce it, think not
Both recent times I remember, the music being located on the download folder of the HDX.
When starting music from there it sometimes takes some few seconds (1 -3) to start. Always have been so - also with nd5xs2.
Do you have other devices using upnp on your network or use any other music service using upnp? I would try not having any electronics on more than naim and router and then make sure only running native streaming service on the ND555 and see what happens. Sounds like a conflict somewhere.
I had similar issues with my NDS using Audirvana until I found a way setting up Audirvana for my system. Now it works perfect but before this I lost connection with the naim app and NDS re-initizated itself and many strange things. I also changed DNS server to 8.8.8.8 plus 8.8.4.4 as backup in the list which seem to have helped. Also make sure to turn everything off/on including router, switch or whatever you have that could interfere with data transfer.
Also running qute 2, muso and nd5xs2 in the network. All naim - nothing else.
Qute is switched on, but different input. Nd5xs2 and muso are in standby.
What is meant with native streaming?
Where is the dns server set - in my router?
I mean run ND555 with say Tidal or Qobuz logged in via Naim app and turn off all other electronics using same router to start with to eliminate what is causing the issue. I’m pretty sure ND555 has nothing to do with it. No computer used to control anything on your music products? That’s where you could try changing DNS servers.
There are other things that can interfere in worst case too using upnp like TV and such.
Have you the same issues when streaming Qobuz ? Or it’s only with HDX ?
Can you insert a usb memory stick in the Nd555, with some tracks on it, and see if the problem is still there ?
Thanks @Blackbird
Yes there is a MacBook :o) and the server is also switched on - but no active shares. Yes - with MacBook I access the hdx.
And yes - it never had happened with stuttering when using quobuz.
Never with quobuz! Only with hdx. With usb I think it will also be fine.
By the way - will I have same access (cover art …) when usb is plugged in?
I just also quit n-Serve running on mac book
Try changing DNS server on the MacBook to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 under advanced internet settings and re start everything using the net. It’s free to try at least
What I was trying to explain is to see if the problem comes from your Network or from your Nd555 or from HDX.
You can have a free trial for Qobuz. And just try also a memory stick ( and yes, you will see the albums covers).
If your app works normally with Qobuz and usb stick, with not the problems you referred above, it will prove that the problem is not your Nd555. So you will have just to change your server/Nas from HDX to something like Innuos or Melco.
But if the problem remains, then you have to involve your dealer for help, and maybe send the Nd555 for repair.
Try also to shut down your Qute, Nd5xs2, MacBook, Nserve, and see if the streaming from HDX to Nd555 is still a problem.
I have quobuz sublime… never happened when internet streaming there.
Do not think it is the nd555.
Will plug in the usb stick and check if it will also happen there - but do not think, as it never had happened with quobuz.
Maybe open a new thread , and you will have more tekie guys here who will help you with your issues ?
Strange that it never happened with nd5xs2 - but had not used it so much as nd555. Not even a bit similar in listend hours.
Which melco should I look for - 100?
@frenchrooster Will go for a separate thread later, as at this moment I would not like to be bewildered as you might „know“ me
A minute ago our internet went down and up again approximately 2 min later - no effect on nd555 streaming quobuz
Is the most up to date firmware installed?
