This is not an attack on anyone, but if naim are so bad why would you be in a naim forum ? Naim are In a no win situation they changed from Classic to NC and all hell has broken loose. Not having a Supernait replacement is a mistake and running classic and NC products at the same time was a big mistake. Naim has to move with the times like all of us do.
@Rickjames Well said! When I switched to 332/333 I decided that having two NPX300s would be best. You might want to consider that if your budget and rack space allows.
Well Im going to pick up my ND5XS2 on Saturday for £1300.00 bargain and it will go well with my xs3
Im not sure the OP was looking to upgrade their source. It was a piece of ( old) information they picked up at their dealers whilst intrested in something else.
2018-2025 plenty of mint ND5-XS2 available at a fair price in the used market, at dealers and online. As the partnering XS3 has also been discontinued, I don’t see the problem really.
Unless this is about absolutely wanting to buy new stuff, and finding out that the line-up currently has some gaps, well enough threads already explaining “wait & see” or “go elsewhere”.
I have the same combination and it is lovely. The ND5XS2 is very nice and has been rock solid on WiFi, especially since firmware 3.11. Sounds great.
Ditto.
ND5XS2 love fest, count me in.
Why are you on the forum then? Can’t quit your ex, so to speak? If I don’t own a particular piece of photo equipment, I wouldn’t dream of going onto the forum and bash the brand. Seems bizarre to me but I realize we are all different
She is Canadian, ironically
Silly old Naim focusing on sound quality.
As if others aren’t? I recently bettered sound quality of the Naim NDX2/XPSDR I had for less than the original cost of the Naim (at retail prices).
Just waiting for the new producs announcement.
So do other hi-fi brands. Software means reliability, stability and comfort.
If other streamers work under the exact same conditions where naim’s streamer refuses to, there is almost no choice left.
Well done.
They’re not paying attention, they’re too busy arguing about nothing.
Happy ND5XS2 user here – from Nait 1 to 52 not a single disappointing moment.
Even sold my NDac and XPS2 for fewer boxes and don’t feel lacking anything. Software is perfect as well – and my previous BS Node couldn’t even fix its UI for my iPhone – end of story.
My ND5XS2 hasn’t skipped a beat since I’ve owned it. And it sounds sublime too which after all is what it’s all about. WiFi performance is solid too. No complaints here.
You won’t be disappointed
