This could be blocking access to the firmware file, try to disable it.
Good suggestion. I temporarily switched off the windows defender firewall. No change
I am able to view the file with the viewer. So I think The access rights should be okay?
If I tried to abort it says the product will be left in an unstable state!
Can you start the updater exe as an administrator?
I I would need to abort the update. When I go to do that it says That the product will be left in and unstable and on usable state!
It won’t have done anything if the software can’t access the firmware file.
Fantastic thanks so much for the help.
I will give that a go in the morning.
A major relief!
Is this a new update for the nds
yes,firmware 4.9
Starting the update program in administrator mode worked!
Thank you for your help. I was concerned I had turned my NDS into a brick!
Brilliant.
I took the abort option and then ran the installer in administrator mode.
It was good for me.
I did not restart the restart the streamer.
Hi.
I need to update the firmware on my NDS to 4.9.
The firmware has never been updated, do I have to install the updates one at a time or can I jump straight to 4.9?
Thank you.
As long as you have 3.0 or higher then it’s ok to go direct to 4.9.
Hi @davidhendon
Thank you for the information.
Has anyone else updated their NDS? Dare I ask, all okay?
I want radio back so need to do mine…
NDS & NDX, the same ….
I updated my NDX as soon as it was released, as have so many others.
It’s easy, just read the instructions and follow to the letter.
You need a USB - Mini USB cable, a laptop with or without an RJ45 ethernet port, ethernet is best but a good wireless connection is just as good.
I didn’t miss iRadio that much as I knew better was coming, plus RP and the other iRadio favourites live in the kitchen Sonos and the NAT-05 more than ensured radio happiness in the lounge.
Some claim it sounds better, some worse, some the same. Same old story
Absolutely no difference In the sound of the NDS for me
