I wonder, why did you prefer it without the NPX300? Iām pretty curious as a couple of days ago I managed to hear the NSS333 with and without the additional PSU in a very familiar setup.

Some dont like hearing things more clearly, the slightly more dirtier sound, is sometimes what some prefer.
Bit like the non dr V dr.

I suspected so, but I wanted to understand if there was more to it. Personally I prefer the cleaner sound with the NPX300, the soundstage is better, clearer and wider to my ears. However the NSS333 alone sounds pretty well nonetheless.

I today put Neet-1008 on NSS333 and it is dramatically more transparent than Chord c-stream.

The 555 really is special and transforms the component itās attached to. I donāt have direct comparison to a 300PX but I know people who have and all preferred the 555. Iāll be surprised if you donāt prefer it. The 555 is the only OC component Iāve owned or demoed that I hands down love.

Is there any hint of harshness with this new cable? After all that happened with the firmware update, I cannot think of that. By the way I also use a C-Stream.
Good call. I think the 555PSDR will work well with your new streamer. Cables are rare and ordered up so unlikely to be sale and return.
I think some other guys on here are using 555PSDR on 300 and 200 series kit with great success. New meets old as they say!

Excellent, thatās the kind of upgrade I would hope to get with a better ethernet cable, hopefully without that harshness. So far I canāt complain about the little C-Stream in the system but I perfectly know it might be a weak point in my chain, Iāll need to explore new possibilities at some point.

Was that through the 50? I think Iād have gone to 332 level before evaluating the worth of an NPX300 on the 333.
