Every part of the chain adds a signature… and has his part of overall balance. But actually think 552/500non dr would also have worked well with 333
So wel all see it differently - a bit different… but it’s very similar to my understanding.
Organic imo can have a peak in the mid section - rolled of at hf.
Downside (with nds) is that cymbals are easy on the ear but less cymbal like.

Yes, maybe. But we could also say that cymbals can sound as such and not only on the metallic side. Bones without meat.
The best definition I could find, which matches my opinion:
organic to me means more smooth, richer, warmer sound that focuses more on the texture of the music rather than the micro-details. organic usually rules out overly bright/sharp sound. the brighter, crisper, airy, sharper sound is often called clinical/analytical, which would be the opposite of organic.
For me, Nds is closer to organic than 333, if we follow that definition.
NDS is closer to organic due to rolled off top end but NSS333 + 300 is not even close to clinical and analytical or lacking low end or warmth.
I tried a PN with 333:300 and found it softened and bloated the sound. I now use a Cisco 2960 with BJC Cat 6a. I just tried a 1.5m C-Stream this week, but the BJC beats it in my system.
Glad you are enjoying the 333.

That’s the result I got with PN last time I tried it. Thanks for sharing ![]()
Nd555 , on 3.8, is organic too, more than 333. I doubt its top end is rolled of . It’s Drago theory.
It sounds to me BB that you are having alot of fun starting from scratch again. I hope you are feeling more connected to the music! Interesting to read your posts and new system progression.
That’s the rule ,a better source is more important than expensive cables ![]()
I think we all get bored and sometimes changing things out is a good thing. The grass is always greener on the other side. Sometimes we need to do this and sometimes go back to go forwards!
Look I love my system but fancy the Gryphon Diablo 333. Bit like being married and then finding something else you like! What to do?

Fully agree with your description!
NDS is the smooth experience wich is sometimes nice and sometimes something is missing. Nd555 on 3.8 is both rainy Sunday and sunny Saturday… on 3.11 it is party Saturday night.
Dan i can almost guarantee that you will love the gryphon as you like bass, and it will certainly have a better grip on it than the 500dr, giving you more bass tones, better attack, etc. Plus the pre amp will certainly be different and should show you more what the ND555 can give.
These supper integrated amps are very, very good these day’s, as people are just finding out on here . ![]()
I wonder what my 555PSDR would sound like on NSS333… I’ve seen a couple claiming NSS333 sound even better with 555PSDR on it than NPX300 making a tilt more towards OC in sound signature. ![]()
I did wonder why you sold the 555PSDR tbf. Nevermind. I read that it sounded better a good while ago.
Who knows what you will end up with. The NPX300 does however look more in keeping with what you have and integrates nicely.
Which ever power supply is the quietest will bring the better results, as thats the real goal for a power supply, apart from giving the correct power.
Less unwanted noise, brings quieter music, letting you hear more, and not polluting the sound.
They use so little power to operate, it’s only an amp that needs big reserves that needs big caps to keep it going.
Visually it’s an easy choice indeed. All NC. The difference might be more different and almost negligible too and using Nait 50 might not benefit from few % extra if 555PSDR would add that. I do remember the difference between XPSDR and 555PSDR on my 272 though.. it was a rather big jump..
