I had the same problem recently. My dealer would take my Rp10 for a very low price, so I didn’t accepted and have not bought the Rp10. Perhaps not the best time actually to make good deals with dealers…just after the lock down.
I beg to differ here but, yes, folks do seem to have some disposable money during these unusual times…On that same token, the dealers must also be fighting to stay afloat.
I don’t think they are, with lockdown people have been listening to there systems more than ever.
This has seen a increase in sales for them with people upgrading and placing orders.
The blogs of several dealers paint this picture nicely.
Ok update time!
I now have a NDX 2 winging it’s way here… Hopefully by mid-next week! How exciting!
P.S - A quick cup of tea, some Deep Purple and a deep breath me-thinks.
Why not jump into the car and collect the black box for the weekend? The country isn’t that big, and you know the parcel won’t be “abused” in transit…
Other than the fact that Stephen doesn’t drive and that we are supposed to be avoiding unnecessary journeys, that’s a great idea.
Not driving is of course a major barrier… Re the second point, he could just tell the police man, if stopped, that he talked to Dominic Cummings…
It’s not a problem. Why rush things. I have one coming and that’s the main thing. This weekend i shall be spending some good quality time with my loved ones, doing some nice home cooking, with plenty of walking in-between.
what a change in the last few months of lock down!! enjoy it!
Funny how the lockdown has me listening to more music and changed my system as well.
I think it’s very variable.
I appreciate local dealers and want to use them.
Having said that, I assembled my recent upgrades and purchases (including an NDX2) using a mixture of 2nd hand deals direct with individuals, bargaining for an all cash deal on new, Naim refurbished via dealer, and ex-demo via dealer. I didn’t actually save any cash though, because I went up the scale on almost every component.
This sounds like my recent experience
Good for you Stephen. Then it will just be a question of the Allaes!

Or those beautiful new Neat speakers…
Mind you, my Neat Motive SX2’s have turned into completely different beasts under the authority of a SN3 amplifier.
Of course Chris. I need to replenish my finances before doing so. My wallet has taken a real pounding of late so need to take things real easy from here on…
What a sad day boxing up my ND5 XS 2. Bye bye old friend. Your new owner is in for a real treat! The NDX 2 better be good.
Hi,
It’s been a week now since i have installed my new NDX 2. To say i’m enjoying it is a total understatement. It’s fantastic, enthralling! With using a AQ Vodka Ethernet cable into a Cisco PD 2960 switch and a HiCap DR onto my newish SN3, it elevates the performance way beyond my wildest expectations. I can’t see me upgrading any further for quite a while now, although a XPS DR is not completely off the cards for the future. In the mean time i finally have
what i was after all long in recent times. This is by far the best system i have owned.
Anyway I just wanted to share my pleasures here in running such a system. I cannot recommend it enough. Also a brand new SNAIC 4 has made a positive impact as well. It sounds better than my old 25 year ones. I don’t why, it just does.
Thank you to everyone here for your kind contributions. I have appreciated each and every one of them. Thanks all for your time. Truly!
Enjoy the music!
I think the NDX 2 is a wonderful source. But I can tell you that it will perform even better with a XPS DR. So if you are not willing to buy one, do not listen to a XPS DR;)
I don’t want to hear one for at least 6 months. Too much temptation as you and others have said.
