NDX2 Firmware update stuck

Hello,

I’ve tried to upgrade the firmware of my NDX2 through the app, but unfortunately now I’m stuck in a loop and I don’t know how to get out of it. I have done firmware upgrades before and they always worked without any issues.

What happens is that as soon as I turn it on, the system starts updating. It goes through about 5 cycles of updating (when the screen says “updating” with the arrow pointing down and a bar fills up). Then it comes back once more to the “updating screen” but then no bar is filling anymore. The power button then flash 4-2-5 times.

I have tried to unplug the power for a while and I have also tried to soft/hard reset it, in line with the topics I found on this forum. It doesn’t seem to respond to the soft/hard reset. I have disconnected the powersource (555ps) and am using it stand-alone now to keep things easy. I have always used ethernet connection to do firmware updates.

I’d appreciate if you could help me with this problem.

Thank you so much,

Robert

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I found it and tried the reset that is mentioned. However my ndx2 is somehow not responding to the reset (or I’m doing jt wrong).

I’m worries that my unit is bricked due to the firmware update.

Is it ethernet all the way from NDX2 to router ? Or is there a “WIFI extender” or MESH in between, which may be interfering with the update ?

Ethernet all the way - After several tries I even plugged it directly into my router to see if the cabling could be the issue. I can see it doesn’t even ask for an IP address anymore.

May be worth trying a power off for the router for a couple of minutes

thanks for you suggestion - unfortunately it didn’t help.

Drats. Certainly there should be no question of it being bricked. I would probably call Naim support at this point or a local dealer possibly

Thanks; I hope you’re right

I sent a ticket to Naim support 4 days ago, but no response yet. I’ll call them tomorrow then.
