Well the next ‘upgrade’ to my fruit box doesn’t come with any options.

A pair of new hinges to be ordered from the Sound Org this week

And a thin piece of tin will be slid into each to ensure I don’t have to replace them a second time!

I’m on my second set of hinges since 1987
I bought them from Peter
My first set didn’t break through the plastic they just can’t keep it up.

The only 2 original parts on my 43 year old LP12 are the outer platter and the lid hinges (yes, really. Is that a record I wonder?)

I think mine is similar. Plinth and top plate and hinges are only original bits. Very soon it will all be replaced. I changed outer plater very recently . Looks better.

:+1: But not 43 years old as @Toon I guess?

That’s three!

For me it’s just the lid and hinges - also three. Following the Ship of Theseus hypothesis, I wonder how many LP12s my original deck has become?

I don’t know. It was valhalla, pre cirkus bearing, certainly not new, white lined bearing. Akito tonearm, which may have been retro fit. When it comes back from dealer will check serial number.

Must have been a bugger to get that shelf fitted level with the walling! Looks wonderful!

Naaah……I have a 24 year head start on it🤣

Was an interesting challenge to get it all level.

First I carved 2 pieces of wood to suit the undulations of brickwork and screwed / glued them vertically.
Next same procedure for the bottom horizontal.
Then I sealed them with mastic.
Screwed a piece of 8mm marine ply to them.
Next up the front was braced with a nice chunky timber and a concrete mix pored into from the top opening.
After a few days the brace was removed and top sealed up on top of concrete with wood filler.
Final sand and painted.

Somehow it all came together square and plumb and most of all meant I could walk around without the arm jumping… suffer with a suspended floor like yourself.

Replace with Bedrok for improved sound :ok_hand:

Didn’t the LP12-50 have improved hinges? If yes, are they likely to be available as an upgrade I wonder?

Fantastic installation. I have found a workaround with LP12 on Fraim in corner of the room. Less footfall and lots of heavy Naim boxes underneath. Have had no problems. But wall shelf is done and dusted and ultimately is better.

Considering putting a shelf up again. I have done it before. Won’t look as good. But I am considering it.

The new aluminium hinges from the LP12-50 did not fit existing plinths the holes for the mounting blocks are in a different position
Perhaps that might be a future change for the new Bedrok or standard.

The only original part is the hinges needs dealing with. First to no original parts wins ….

I still have my lid, hinge blocks, wiring strap “ crossmember “ , top plate.
1987. :scream:

You’re clearly flagging & need to get a move on

I’m Klimax every other bit. :+1:

Linn will surely need another word for their top LP12 once Bedrok is available. Pinnakle maybe.
