Not to mention also being able to eliminate a whole lower level occupied by Radikal. I could potentially save a couple of shelves, also taking into consideration Superline and Supercap, which each need their own shelves.
Ah well…

Ah well…
They’ve only released the Arm today though…
Clare,
Looks like only 5 pins of the Burndy are in use, seems a shade wasteful of a, what, 19 pin connector?
Regards
Richard
I think that is the ‘Flat Earth Wing’ of the forum!
In before “they could have lowered the price if they didn’t have extra pins on the connector”
Blockquote Interestingly the new Aro is apparently different geometry to the old one - it’s longer - so won’t work with Linn, for example.
So there will be no chance to try this Linn/Naim combination until (if/when) Naim release a Linn Friendly version.

I checked in with Jason Gould on the dimensions earlier and the overall length is 230mm. Effective length 230mm and pivot to centre is 212.5mm! Nice! The collar/mounting is different however, so we will just have to wait and see…

This thing is very captivating. I don’t own a single vinyl record, and it temps me to get one. If the pricing in the US is anything like the ND555, then I would expect it to be more like $30K US, however.
Spoken to my dealer (Sound Organisation - York) and arranged a a dem as soon as he get his.
I have been a Linn LP12 user for over 30 years, over which time I have been upgrading it each step of the way, except for the Linn Eurika phono stage which I never took to as I much preferred the Superline/Supercap. So, I am really keen to hear this new Naim offering but it will have to be really quite something to get me to move on from my beloved LP12.
Will be really interesting… looking forward to that dem … and you never know!!!
Richard
Seems a sensible, cost effective approach. Use a connector that Naim already use and just populate it with the number of pins required. It works for all the other Burndy equipped Naim products.
Wonder how long it will take to complete the Naim run in process?

You 2 have been pretty busy today
On the upside the solstice looks beautiful
Rectangle, circle, straight bit… Yes similar
It’s SRP $20,000
That’s funnier than most of the jokes on the best jokes thread!
I wish I had that kind of cash.
Given the package deal, it looks like far more kit than $20,000 USD cost.
Another question if I may, where does this package stand in the Naim range. We talk about a balanced system on this forum. Would this front end be better suited a minimum a 252/300 to hear the full potential?
S-
On a source first basis I’d have thought a 282/250DR would be fine. Unless you are trying to justify not buying the Solstice
I ran a similarly priced LP12 on a 282/250DR for several years. Have 252 now but still using a 250DR.
It’s really scalable - 250/300; 500; Statement: check out what the whathifi hands-on has to say on that topic
Congrats to Naim - fabulous looking turntable, like others wondering why it is being limited to 500 as imagine it will sell out pretty quickly?
Just wondering, as you have ordered one, how do you know you will like the MC cart?
Perhaps you are prepared to sell it if not ?
I bet It’ll work brilliantly with a Nait2!
