Not so much though. The Naim is not solid but suspended.
This new phono stage just based on form factor is quite a bit more consumer-friendly than the SuperLine/SC DR combo.
Yes, you are right. Just a bit for the look.
To sell more Arms? …it’s not about controlling the market, it’s about giving the customer what they want and shifting units!
And at the time I was working there Toyota made engines for the Lotus Elise. So is the Elise a Lotus or a Toyota?
I’m not liking that video.
Not edited very well at all. Very poor.
Needle start on arm rest, then onto record, back to the arm rest, onto the inner grooves, back to the outer grooves, onto the centre grooves, back to the outer grooves.
I do like the Denon style cartridge with the white line indicating precisely the location of the needle.
I am surprised some forum members haven’t complained that it looks too tall.
It looks fine, probably sounds fantastic and is way to far up the food chain for me to think about, but I do think that Naim missed a trick with the tag line. I think a far better line would be:
Naim, raising the box count since 1973.
I would see another rack dedicated for that tt and the 2 boxes. Not sure that Fraim is the best for it.
It’s three boxes, right. That’s actually not uncommon for a modern high quality analog front end (TT, PSU of some kind, phonostage).
Fraim WB
(wall bracket)
And is that a forum member I spy in the background?
Roger
It could be any number of them!
I wondered, too. And I don’t expect an answer but I wonder in particular how many they expect to sell and hence how real this limitation really is. If I recall correctly, Rega so far sold approx 25 of the 50 Naiad they can build, and the Naiad is not so much more expensive. I mean, yes, with the phono stage it’s probably twice the price, but in this league it’s not day and night
@ampwat I use an isoAcoustics Delos TT isolation platform on top of my Fraim (top shelf is a Fraimlite). However, the Delos doesn’t sit well on the triangular top of the Fraimlite, so I repurposed the 3/4" MDF from my Solidsteel wall bracket and use three HRS isolation pucks to support it on the Fraimlite. The Delos sits on that. It works great, even compared to when I had it on the wall bracket.
I still have my Solidsteel wall bracket, and I may use that again someday if I follow through with moving the system to my living room.
I wish I had that much hair
It would have been a brave marketing exec who would have gone with “Apocalypse” but id have liked it more than Solstice….
And a review would be called ‘Judgement Day’.
They could have done this long time ago
