Please do!

Hi @JohnBailey

We seem to have a bit of server side issue when dealing with the old servers internet radio support. The guys at VTuner are currently investigating. I’ll let you know once its sorted.

Best

Steve

Thanks Steve.

That’s much appreciated.

Best,

John.

The sound quality is excellent. I love Radio Paradise and now in CD quality it is even better to stream in my office whilst I’m working. Been a Naim fan/owner for years and this is just icing on the already tasty cake of the NDX2. Thank You

Is this the highest quality available for R3?

Yes

My first time trying out internet radio on my NDX2. Sounds great but having consistent dropouts and some freezing issues on the app not resolved with a reboot. Any advice?
Thanks.

Ah, there’s enough people, “where it works”.
First suspect could be insufficient WAN (DSL/Cable/…) or LAN/WiFi bandwidth for you. I.e. “your internet connection is not fast enough”. Or you are in a place of the world, with bad connections to the servers published. (Which are spread, but I think centered in Europe and US.)
Do you stream other hires sources from the internet without issues? (Tidal, Qobuz, … or high-res video streams)
Is you NDX2 connected via Ethernet or WiFi?

Yes, stream Tidal/Qobuz hi-res with no problem. Wired connection. Also stream HD video, so I don’t think it’s bandwidth. Thanks.

Is your wired connection directly to router or is it Ethernet over Mains?

Wired to router. Thanks.

Ah, good. @Stevesky once explained how EoM could cause dropouts in internet radio

Yes, Roon has supported FLAC streaming radio for sometime, and went through a release of its Radio service last year.
They ‘crowd sourced’ the addition of the Radio stations to their database, as one of the ‘Curators’ I can add & maintain the provision & details of the stations, including description, stream links, icons.
I added all the stations for Ireland - national, regional, speciality, etc.

And with my ‘Roonified NDS’ through the SonoreUPnP Bridge, works perfectly for all possible formats, with the Roon Core presenting a UPnP based WAV stream to the NDS over the Ethernet input.

I’d like to add a big thanks to Steve for doing this, now that it’s out of beta and we’re allowed to talk about it! In fact, it has always been possible to add lossless FLAC stations to the current streamers via vTuner, but now there are more of them, and they are more reliable.

When the Radio Paradise FLAC streams first arrived, I messed around getting them to work via Minimserver or LMS, but frankly it really didn’t sound much better than the 320k streams. Now, though, they really seem to sound like HiFi, and at last iRadio for me can be more than just background music.

Fully agree … I couldn’t really tell them apart (Radio Paradise FLAC via Minimserver v’s 320k on the Naim streamer)

Now it sounds far superior using the latest added FLAC station … not placebo :grinning:

I would suggest you get in touch with support@naimaudio.com, so they can look into this for you.

hello, my nd5xs2 is back from service and I’m happy to report that new HD radio is sounding very good indeed.
However the highest bitrate one (mother Earth I think) is too much for my wifi :frowning:

Brilliant, thanks Richard. I will build and test an m3u file to play these stations with MinimStreamer and will share this for other first gen streamer users.

Would it possible to also have the links for the non-Naim HD stations?
