Stream1 and Stream3. More info on their website
Wonder what happened to Stream2?
Are these replacing the Pulse series? I’m a bit confused as you can add a hard drive to them… that would almost make them something akin to the stand alone players like the Zen / Zenith / Statement etc. Or have I got that wrong?
No they are replacing the Zen MK3 series
Ah, thanks for the clarification. It will be interesting to see the pricing and comparative performance differentials compared to the Zen series.
A guy from Innuos says around $2800 for the Stream1
Stream 1 and 3 use DC in from an external standard SMPS unlike Pulse which has the Sean Jacobs LPS built in already. I’m guessing that if you want the same level of power supply for Stream 1 / 3 then you need the additional Innuos LPS1 which is another 1000 GBP.
On the other hand we know from Naim and others that moving the power supply out from sensitive electronics is a good thing.
PhoenixNET will be replaced too with two versions, half and full width. And the new LPS1 power supply have two outputs and will be able to power both the Stream and their upcoming Ethernetswitch.
I’m starting to hesitate on Pulse now since they just launched Stream series.. No comparisons available yet since Stream is not out yet.
I may be wrong, more than likely, but I think the Pulse is also being phased out. Worth checking out with Innuos.
Yes according to innuos forum the pulse series will go, only on the website currently until they shift all stock. A move upmarket which I think is a shame.
Yes Pulse is discontinued.
So quite a change for Innuos, not much left from the old line up, if anything, unsure if Statement survives.
Yes less different products but instead with module option which you can adapt to your need when placing the order or later.
Do these streamers still use LMS/Lyrion?
Yes I guess that must be an attractive option to some users. I will check out the Nazuré but maybe time to consider other options.
I’m thinking of buying Stream1 with SPDIF Board, but which cable should I use with my Naim NSC 222? I’m a bit unsure and would it be okay with a link to the cable I’m thinking of?
You need a digital coaxial cable (75ohm) with RCA connector on the Stream 1 side and BNC or RCA on the 222 side. Some cables have a direction on them so if so make sure it’s from RCA to BNC or RCA. I have no proof of this but Nordost and Ansuz claim that it’s better to use a BNC - BNC cables with RCA adapters than a RCA - RCA or a RCA - BNC.
Links are not ok in this forum if it goes to i.e a store.
But why do you want a Stream 1 with your 222 which already has a streamer built in?
Is it an advantage to connect a streamer to another streamer ?
I don’t understand the goal here.
Because I think it’s the best choice. I haven’t been able to find a server that I’m happy with.
He would bypass the streamer in 222 and use it as a DAC/Pre only.
