I never heard about the swan/broken arm thing, so I asked Dr. Google about it. Came across this:
I should think with a 200m lens you must have been a long long way away !?
Nice shot !
Three of my bird photos, taken a few years ago, when I had short stint at bird photography.
The first is a Turnstone on the beach one evening behind Scarborough RNLI station.
Canon 1D Mk11 with Canon 70-200 f2.8 lens
The second Black-headed gull, winter plumage on the south beach Bridlington.
Canon 1D Mk11 with Canon 500 mm f4 lens
The third image is of Greylag Geese, at Cley, Norfolk. I was in a bird hide there and I could hear these geese calling. I ran out of the hide and just pointed and shot with camera, a lucky shot. Note the white rim at the base of the bill, not all Greylags have that.

Beautiful image (3rd). Bravo!
Thank you
All good, but that 3rd one is absolutely “top shelf.”
Followed the same route myself a few times. You feel as if you can reach out and touch the top of the shard.
Quite pleased with these of a spotted flycatcher, although it has been around our house for weeks and actually is quite tame. Not hours spent in a hide but taken through the kitchen window!
This one deserves a 500 Series inside.
Is there an internal Garage? I like the 500 series
(ps, not my car!)
I had one exactly 50 years ago…
Ha! - Thanks.
