Beautiful walk yesterday on the island of Sylt (North Sea - Germany at the boarder to Denmark). The island is so narrow. The way there on the Wadden Sea side is completely different from the way back on the open North Sea side. Wonderful!
A couple of early efforts from our new camera which was a joint Christmas present. Learning the functions and menus is like an “A” level course.

We thought long and hard, asked for advice and did lots of reading. We were looking for a decent zoom and portability. We therefore had to sacrifice sensor size and quality of image. But so far very pleased with what it can do. Found it for under £600 new.
A bitterly cold, but dry, walk in the local(ish) hills today. The lodge at Dunmaglass featured for much of the route, creating a nice focal point, but the star of the day, for me at any rate, was the magnificent old tree I encountered after descending.
