Trundled over to Old Warden yesterday which was bathed in glorious sunshine below wall to wall blue sky for the most part.

Not the worst day if you were to be offered the keys to a Spitfire and asked to take one up for a shufty…

The first is Duxford’s refreshed Mk XIV in its new Royal Indian Air Force colours, the second is Shuttleworth’s own Mk V, nowadays with proper eliptical wing tips and no longer left to fly with its wings clipped.

What aircraft is it? Its nose shape reminds me of the Horsa glider, but of course thats a quite different aircraft.

Mallorca is a wonderful island. We have a good friend near Santanyi who we stay with. She was the former editor of ‘Paris Match’ until the ‘80’s and is quite a character.
