Catch of the day. The funny thing is that everything looks much greener than the Green Heron.

Glorious day in Derbyshire today. Unusually warm. Some interesting geology and spring flowers.

And some from Oregon

Astoria, with the bridge taking highway 101 across the Columbia. In Kindergarten Cop you see what is probably the USS Missouri heading out under this bridge.

Cannon Beach, with the Haystack Rock

And Mount Hood (11,249’) in February 1997. I drove up around the mountain. The snow had been ploughed and was a good 7’ deep up the side of the road. I was the only car and I must have been mad to go up there even in a rented Toyota!

I’ve been across that bridge and spent a few days at Cannon Beach. Beautiful area that gets nicer as you head south from there.

Some absolutely fairy tale imagery there. Wonderful!

Mammatus clouds in the Monadhliath mountains today. Usually associated with stormy weather, especially thunder, they are not particularly common. Fortunately, they came and went without unleashing anything more sinister than a temporary cooling of the breeze.
