Bit further north still. Next to the lime kilns at Beadnell harbour.
Very apt composition.Very nice B&W.
Thanks Fabio. It was nice to shoot some film. Unusual for me too, to use a 28mm lens in a portrait format.
Ah, the joy!
Between the times
Definitely not in a combative mood. Surrounded by dead Ash trees, grey skies above and cold wind raffling his feathers, the hawk is just content to lose momentarily his fierce looks, almost accepting the human company from below.
A few belated images from last Sunday’s climb of the Corbett Meall na Fearna, from Ardvorlich, on the shores of Loch Earn. There was enough snow to make things interesting but not too much for it to be a chore - there is significantly more now. The start point for the Corbett is the same as for ascents of the popular Munros, Stuc a’ Chroin and Ben Vorlich, the latter dominating the view for most of the day. Although many folk were out on the Munros, I enjoyed a day of splendid isolation on the Corbett.

A burn that springs from the hillside and flows for exactly 4km to Loch Earn, below.
End of the day and cloud just kissing the summit of Ben Vorlich
Cheers,

I really like that photo. Knowing how difficult it can be getting the correct exposure makes it all the more enjoyable.
Not sure how “nice”, but a cool experience especially for a 67 (almost 68) year old guy nearing the end of his plying days…they put a rink down on the baseball stadium here in downtown Charlotte and our team had an opportunity to play.
Undecided ears
Just before darkness, the camera groaning, trying to focus.. we watched each other for a minute till a second deer crossed the trail and they took off.
