I enjoyed a glorious day in the Scottish mountains yesterday, as I climbed my 200th (out of 222) Corbett. The hill was Beinn Stacath, near Lochearnhead, but the views were dominated by the twin Munros of Stob Binnein and Ben More.

We spent one of our best holidays renting a house (mates rates!) along the southern shore of Loch Tay somewhere between Acharn and Ardeonaig in a unusually fine October. Good memories…

Thanks for the reminder.

Do you happen to know Alan Rowan, aka Munro Moonwalker?

I know of him, but don’t know him personally.

Your sunset:a very “readable”photo in which the low dark part is so well balanced by the upper lighter one.

Regent’s canal beyond Islington?

Yes Regent’s canal but a bit further east than Islington - snapped on a walk into the city for lunch - Stratford International to Leadenhall Market - a walk I can do one way but not both although I did manage to walk back to St Pancras.

Looks like a few more sharks have gathered there from when I passed by earlier in the year.

A few months ago we did Blackfriars Bridge along the Thames to Limehouse basin, then up the regent’s canal past Mile End and Victoria Park, past Broadway market then onto Islington and St Pancras. A good walk, but have done the Stratford walk too. The routes through which goods were transported to and from the Thames many years ago are really worth exploring.

It’s hard work being a pup, lots of sleep required! I was chatting to a knowledgable lady who explained the apparent visible ‘ribs’ are actually folds in the skin, awaiting expansion from all the fat they need to build up before heading for the water at 6 weeks.

Know any good seal music?

In a break from seal pics. An apple in a tree.

Nothing unusual in that you may think.

However, I’ve just watched a squirrel trot along the fence with pictured, rather large apple in its mouth, which was quite amusing. It climbed up our plum tree, made a beeline for a vacant nest, dropped the apple in it and then climbed down and ran off again. No doubt to look for more booty to drop in his larder!
