A brief stroll by yer man on the way…
Shame. Just arrived back in London from my day trip to Dublin today. Didn’t spot you in tower records…
I did walk past and popped my head in for the novelty value. Records are really expensive around here but there are quite a few of them!
And Oscar isn’t far away…
Quite like Dublin Airport though, well organised.
When I lived in Dublin I loved the fact that news hadn’t reached them that Tower Records went bust years ago.
To be fair I only realised the shop was still there when I saw a student outside trinity college with that distinctive yellow and red plastic bag, and the bag looked too new to be an antique.
And just to show the Scottish hills are not all sun and delight as Ian’s wonderful photos test! Taken a couple of years ago now as I was visiting my cousin in Dalwhinnie. This was taken just south of Dalwhinnie on my way back to Dalgety Bay, from the hard shoulder! This is the central Scotland I remember of much of my youth, skies heavy and laden warning you that being on the hills was going to be very foolish! I had stayed with Bill for a couple of days and had ventured out twice, once up nearby Am Faireamh, in deep snow but glorious sunshine, only to be telephoned on the summit by my London office to be told the burglar alarm had gone off! and then the following day up Leacainn opposite but the weather descended into no visibility and a snow storm within about 30mins so I turned around and came down very quickly!
LOL, I had an occasion a couple of decades ago when one of the spacecraft had an issue and the team called my mobile. My wife answered the call with the phrase, “Chris can’t talk right now because he’s driving and we’re stuck in a jam in Putney!” ![]()
Ceremony marking the fourth anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, taken in Portsmouth, UK, yesterday
The weekend seems like a year.
I attended the “Ballet of lights” tonight. The audience was allowed to take pictures for the last part of the show. All pictures taken with an iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Without the flash, I presume?
The cameras on the iPhone are much improved nowadays. No doubt the same is true of other smartphones.
