A blue speck on the tree stump made me halt. The rain had stopped and the Tree Swallow stuck its head out of the cavity, getting ready to resume the food hunt for her young chicks.
Here is a view along the Grand Western Canal just outside of Tiverton, Devon. and below is something I’ve not seen before in this country, a snake swimming in the water there. I think that it’s a Grass Snake, but at first I thought it’s an Adder.
Out for a stroll today in a local estate with the hound, beautiful light coming through the trees and illuminating the river bed with this copper coloured effect
Here are a couple of pictures I took a couple of years ago. I stuck my phone over the eyepiece of a small scope. They have bred successfully for several years now on Pershore Abbey. They are always a pleasure to see. ( Unless you are a pigeon.)
