Not "liking" legendary bands or artists

Just my humour. Hate Donovan BTW.

Ah, Stevie Nicks. How could I forget. Sounds like a sheep being slaughtered when ā€œsingingā€.

Lol, talking of sheep…much as I like him: Roger Chapman!

I’ll listen to him anyday over what Fleetwood Mac turned into.

Can i suggest. Those of whom take an active dislike, might perhaps have an inferior hifi system.
From an aesthetic point of view - you would want to have things pleasantly presented before your ears.
Having a hifi system that shows why you don’t like some things is a bit bonkers when you think about it.

Ah, you also played air-guitar!

I have a top of the range system in terms of hi fidelity reproduction, I’ll have you know!:sunglasses:

I fear that a random online looker could perhaps from reading this thread, conclude that Naim owners are more interested in pandering to their own easy listening habits - rather than having a system that ā€œchallengesā€ with some confidence to try new stuff.

!?Que!?Āæ thanks TJ. Ain’t gotta a clue what you’re on about but it made me laugh.:sunglasses:

I meant that we all seem like a bunch of boring old farts.

Oi……we’ll have less of the ā€œoldā€, thank you.

Some of us here are still under seventy! :grinning: :grinning: :grinning:

Neil Young omg Neil Young!!! Apart from that godawful voice and the never ending noodling guitar solos…apart from that just look at him he’s sooooo so scruffy. Make an effort man

Some Neil is really great. Most really isn’t. The great stuff has great solos and some of the best sounding guitar you may ever hear. I say that as someone who has negligible interest in guitar solos.

The voice? Matched to certain songs it’s fine. Others? Yikes.

People making a case for his more recent albums need a hearing test allied to a critical faculties test

I’m saying this as the owner of several Neil albums which I would happily defend. I even like Trans.

I haven’t played or heard Trans for years. I remember when it was released it was panned by just about everyone. I noticed it in Qobuz the other day I might just give it a listen.

I take zero responsibility for the outcome

I’m well aware it’s vastly inferior in many ways to say Ragged Glory or Harvest but hey ho there’s no real logic to any of what we like is there.

Too late I’m holding you completely responsible.

I’ve found the older I get the more I’m listening to stuff that 20 years ago I would have scoffed at.

More truth in that than any of us may care to admit.

More recent

Pearl Jam : Eddie Vedder clearly can’t sing at all. I couldn’t name a single song of their’s

U2 : for many years they’ve looked like old men dressed in their teenage children’s clothes

I will admit to liking a couple of songs from ā€˜After the Gold Rush’ and ā€˜Heart of Gold’ (despite the singing). Otherwise I’m completely out.
